*clears throat* SQUEE!

So. We'd planned to go see horses with [livejournal.com profile] overcraft, except the owner of the place where her horse Java is kept for the summer was not there, and we could only see the horses for afar. Still, Java is gorgeous and the slash has not got to me so much that I was OTPing two geldings look it's all Over's fault.

On the other hand, we were supposed to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] foley_durden and hopefully catch a glimpse of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis outside the on-invitation-only French premiere of PotC 2, and we ended up completely missing her but oh so much more than I expected fangirly-wise.

So, the premiere was supposed to be at 7:45, and we got there an hour earlier. There were already tons of people there, but we eventually managed to find a very strategic position by the red carpet and befriended two Californian dudes college boys who'd just stumbled upon the crowd and figured all those people must be waiting for something worth seeing. We learned from some fangirls that not only was Johnny expected, but also Orlando. Which, alright, cool, I just wanted to see Johnny, personally. We waited and were too hot and thirsty and were gradually more and more crushed towards the barriers, and then we waited some more. And then, by order of appearance...

Orlando arrived, and did I just turn into a fangirl at his sight or what. Not a shrieking one, there were already enough of those, but a quiet fangirl who kept her squeeing private, and just marvelled at the prettiness. The guy's so young, and he pays attention to the fans. And he's very, very, very pretty. Pictures don't do him justice.

I don't care that the picture is blurry as all hell. You have to realise that I was crushed, with my arms up, and this digital camera that kinda sucks, and I couldn't even see what I was framing, and people were pushing and screaming "ORLANDO!" in my ears. So yeah, I don't care that it's blurry, just look at that smile. ...and the ring. I like silver.

Again, sorry about the blurry, but the dorkiness of that smile deserves to be shared.

I took that one right before managing to extend my Pirates DVD jacket over three fangirls for him to sign. He took it, and signed it, and then we spent three or four seconds with him trying to give it back to me, because I was far and my arms? Not that long. And I said one of the most heartfelt thank-you's of my existence because what I was really thanking him for? Was for making the whole standing-there-hot-and-thirsty-and-crushed not be for nothing. And there was eye contact and he is so SWEET he makes me want to use Kaylee's famous take-a-bite-right-outta-him line. Unfortunately, I was behind too many people to be able to tell him anything beside thank-you. (Or fortunately, if I was going to get on the subject of biting him. Unless he's into that. Getting bitten by random fangirls. Who knows, right?)

See? So. Fucking. SWEET. And that dimple! The man's just so pretty. So yeah, I thought I didn't care much for him, but I totally do. Just because he paid attention to the fans and that's the best thing, for me. An actor does that, I'm bound to like him. And one of the fangirls in front of me told him "I love you" and he answered "Merci" and isn't that the SWEETEST thing.

Right. Enough Orli-fangirling now. Let's move on to OMFGJOHNNY.

The glasses, people. Those purple glasses. So. Very. Johnny. And that jaw, enhanced by the stubble? Oh yes. And the hair, the hair is great. And just, you know, Johnny! Those cheeks. Mmmm.

Yes, yes, blurry, but truth be told the "crushed" factor was even worse for him than for Orlando and who cares, look! Ring! Ring. Ring and finger tattoo. Coolness! Also, again, just look at those cheeks. Oh, to see him sucking them in.

So, you know, where Orlando was really attentive to the fans, Johnny was much more down-to-business, and focused on getting stuff signed and moving on to the next stuff to sign. But here, he's smiling a little, and just look at what it does to his cheekbones*melts*. It's one thing to admire his cheekbones on a screen, another one altogether to witness them in the flesh. Powerful weapon, those are.

Yeah, I know, crappy picture with that guy in front of Johnny, what the hell did he think he was doing there, tsk, honestly, but still, there's the Jack Sparrow tattoo on his forearm and that's so much love. (For the record, it's the same tat that Jack has, except with the sparrow flying towards Johnny instead of away from him, and he got it done for his son, Jack.)

And sadly, this is the best picture of the notwife I could get. Vanessa, in the bottom left hand corner. She stood not three feet from me for a while, three feet on which were stacked maybe four people, and I could have reached out and touched her, but I couldn't get one decent shot. She was very sweet, though, and at one point a girl called her back asking her to come over to take a picture with her, and she did with a smile and how nice is that. She's very beautiful, too. In a stick figure kind of way, I'm sorry, I like my women with a bit more meat on their bones.

One of the Californians was pretty tall and thus had long arms, and a much longer reach than me, and he managed to 1) take a few great pictures of Johnny, apparently, including one when Johnny grinned and OMGGOLDTEETH and damn sexy grin is all I have to say about that, we took their e-mail addie to get those pictures and 2) more importantly, get my DVD jacket to Johnny for him to sign.

Yes, I now have my PotC DVD jacket signed by Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp (right on Geoffrey's face, how rude, honestly). Yay! I wasn't even disappointed that, contrarily to the ideal little dream world in my head, Jack Davenport didn't show up. Because even without him, it was well worth it. Besides, I would've been incredibly frustrated not to be able to at least exchange a few words with him. Not just because I lust after his voice, no.

Now, you know what pisses me off? That the movie isn't actually released in France until August. Bleedin' August. How am I supposed to wait while the whole flist erupts into squees and fanfiction and I haven't written any Pirates fic in ages but I want to I can't wait I love these characters I. Can't. Wait. I'm debating whether it's worth downloading it to watch it on a computer screen, before going to watch it in the cinema, or if I really do want the first time to be on a big screen. Thoughts?

...squeeful day. I still can't really wrap my mind around the fact that yes, they stood within a few feet of me. Orlando Bloom in all his pretty sweetness and Johnny Depp in all his tattoed, beringed, purplely-bespectacled, cheekbones-to-be-damned-for glory. I'm every bit a fangirl today. A very, very, very happy fangirl.
