Premieres aplenty

So. We watched things. The Lost premiere, the Kitchen Confidential premiere, and the Nip/Tuck premiere. Spoilery rants ahead.

Lost's Man of Science, Man of Faith.

I was feeling like back when everybody had HP6 but me, here, I have to say. Actually, now I should go back to y'all's LJs and read your thoughts on the ep, but first I thought I'd share mine. Well. The thing is, it felt more like a half episode than an episode. I loved the beginning, I thought it was incredibly frustrating and quite well done, the way at first you thought it was a flashback. Also, re Jack's flashbacks, they do better wigs than Joss's shows. Heh.

That said, well, the ep seemed a bit... empty. Don't know if it's because there were no news of our three guys out there on the raft or what... But usually you have secondary storylines in Lost episodes. What was it here? Maybe there were just too many flashbacks or something. It just felt incredibly empty. But at least we finally know what's down there, eh. Too damn predictable, though, that that guy would be the one living down there.

Also? How I loathe thee, Kate. "Yes, Jack, I'll be on your side." "Well, I'm gonna go with Locke now." Traitress. Turncoat. And then he's still so bloody worried about her. *eyeroll* Also, I missed Sawyer and Jin a lot. For some reason, I didn't miss Mike that much (which makes me kinda sad), but those two? Hell yeah. Am also waiting to meet the new cast members. I realise that I'm not really excited about the beginning of this season, rather about what will happen once some things are set up. And I really don't wanna hate Analucia, so they'd better write her well.

Nip/Tuck's Momma Boone.

Christian being dead? I didn't believe it. There was no way. Especially not when Liz talked at his funeral. Heh. Quentin what's-his-name? I like him already. *goes off to imdb him because dammit, I know him* Oh, from ER most likely. As for Rhona Mitra, it's very telling that when I saw her I didn't think Gideon's Crossing, but Watchers. (Who have published their season premiere, too! Available on their site, along with the rest of that amazing webseries.) Even though I really liked Gideon's Crossing. Anyway, I thought the scene that culminated with the threesome was absolutely entrancing. The way they reached out for each other through the darkness... well, fuck. That was brilliant writing.

Julia annoys me as much as ever. What does she even listen to her mother for? She bores me as much as she annoys me, actually. Blah. And Matt still looks like Michael Jackson.

But the Sean and Christian and Quentin and Momma Boone and Liz stuff was great. Yay!

Kitchen Confidential's Exile on Main street

Bradley Cooper and Nick Brendon, how could I resist? Besides, I had the very nice surprise of seeing the ever so lovely Andrea Parker. She's ageing really well (and I do hope we'll see more of her). But really, it should have been a 42-minutes show. That was just too short, not near enough time to get into the characters and all. But it shows promise, it surely does, and I love the waiter already. Also, the critique lady I knew from an ep of Boomtown - S2, so not one of the best, but she was good in it, so yay!

And Nick was really underemployed. Will be looking forward to more anyway!
