I felt like Lamb got much less of an end than Tara or Lindsey, seeing as they both died on screen, and he didn't even. Much as it's maybe more realistic that there was this go-between time at the hospital, I think it still makes the impact of his death less. Sadly. He deserved to die on screen, strange though that might sound.
Absolutely. They might as well have kept him in a coma, or simply incapacitated, no matter how much or for how long, so that Keith might get the sheriff job. Honestly. I like that they didn't 'redeem' him before the end, but I wish he'd at least died on screen.
