"And yet you still find me strangely attractive."

I still think that James Marsters is an absolute wanker, but man it's good to see him acting again, especially such a delightful character. He's so good at enjoying what shouldn't be enjoyed. I think I rather adore John, or whatever his name truly is.

In other news, so much Ianto-related squeeing. And the stopwatch was there!

In other other news, I wish they'd give up on the fake Jack/Gwen thing seriously. It feels fake, and obligatory, is all I'm saying.

In other other other news, when did I start liking Owen again? I forget.

I'm glad that Torchwood is back, in all its holey-plot glory. Giving us JM with a low gun belt, a fondness for poodles and tricks stolen from Yo-Saf-Bridge (crossover anyone?).

And I'm looking forward to more.

I don't like Owen, I agree with the fakeness of Jack/Gwen and Iano is very cute. James Marsters came across as Spike with different hair and a different coat, which is GOOD and SLASHY.

PS I'm really spammy today.

I like Owen's efficiency. I don't know. It's weird. I don't think I used to like him. Has my dislike of him been retconned somehow? Ianto is very cute and very... very. very. English. I want to squish him. And yes, Spike with a different coat and that gun belt that was sex incarnate. And a few more years on him. But still the same mischief, the same everything. Except even slashier than Spike, which is saying something. I love RTD for this.

PS: clearly so am I.

I just know you mean Welsh so I'll let you off ;)

Watching Torchwood last night made me remember the whole Angel/Spike and Angel/Wesley goodness as well. These writers really know how to push the buttons, don't they?

[identity profile] fan-elune.livejournal.com 2008-01-17 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, no, actually, I mean English! Well, technically I mean British, I suppose - I mean not in terms of where he's from but what he's like. He's like... oh, it makes sense in my mind. Like his behaviour, in the scene where Jack asks him out particularly? (You're such an ass, Jack. But at least now you're trying.) Anyway, stereotypically English, but in a real way, if that makes sense.

Oh, man, I used to be into Angel/Spike so. much.

[identity profile] honeyfitz.livejournal.com 2008-01-17 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha, I think I get you :D I'm really looking forward to a good, proper kiss between Jack and Ianto. Preferably not a reunion-smooch...and preferably one where both are conscious. A good, wet, hot kiss.

I turned to Charlie yesterday while we were watching TW and said 'Oh my god, Spike and Angel were SO doing it, weren't they?'
I had a 'oh god hell yes' in return :)

[identity profile] fan-elune.livejournal.com 2008-01-17 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, god, yes. Preferably at the end of that date. Now I sort of want to write it. Oh, man. Ianto owns a little piece of my heart, yes he does.

Ha! Listen to her. They so were. Obviously. Hey, it's as cannon as it can get! Angelus used the word deviant. That says it all.

The Jack/Gwen thing is..um.. *waves hands*

Jack/John and Jack/Ianto are lovely, though. With history, and awkwardness and need on both sides. Mmm.

Torchwood is back, and it's so v. pretty.

I'm sorry, I just don't see Jack/Gwen. It's not out of the desire to have Slash And Only Slash, it's just that I don't see it. Meh.

Definitely! I'm thinking John is eventually going to invite himself into my head and demand to be written about. He clearly deserves to be written about, after all, such an attractive subject and all. (See, he's half there already.)

It truly is.

That's what I was trying to say, but being distracted by the episode (again) I trailed off. :) Jack and John bantering is just terrific. They certainly *sound* married, or like an estranged couple of conmen.

John deserves stories. He and Jack got up to a lot of stuff, and not being part of the team doesn't mean he wouldn't drop in and drag Jack off places just to keep from being bored. He gets bored a lot, and then things tend to get destroyed, as Jack knows. But, keep him happy and things go much smoother. *g*

I'm clinging to "but that was Jack acknowledging the END of the Jack/Gwen thing and now we never have to see it again"

But Captain John was AWESOME. Even if, yes, he was totally Spike with the less romantic soul and more with the amoral and psychopathic and why is that so hot?

I nearly liked Gwen, even, until she said "no one else will have me." WRONG REASON FOR MARRIAGE.

Yes... yes... and yes!

It's also refreshing to find someone who actually likes Owen. I really liked his character at the beginning of S1, all that loved-up bollox pissed me off towards the end, but I have high hopes for him this year... unless they pair him up with Tosh, then I might barf and seriously have to stop watching. I want more Owen/Gwen angst. *sigh* But my one true Torchwood love is more than enough to keep me going, so much Ianto/Jack love in 45 mins I thought I was going to squish myself to death.

Owen is made of snarky love, though he seemed a bit nicer than in previous episodes. I like him waaaaaaay that "please, get into the rift and die PLEASE!" Gwen. They are making a total Mary Sue out of her - she brought Jack back, she was the leader of Torchwood though she was in the shortest, she shares Jack's secrets, she shares all those Super Special Moments with him...

[identity profile] sarkastic.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Jack/Gwen feels so forced and you can tell by the way that Barrowman's acting significantly falters when he's trying to be all tortured-soulmates with her. I'm all for Jack sleeping with as many people as possible (though the Ianto fan in me feels bad for Ianto), but why not just let this one die? *sigh*

Otherwise, I loved "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang."
