Oh, MY GOD. That scene where Ianto was so fucking KICKASS. My Ianto love will never, ever die, and I'm sorry Jack but I still HATE YOU for the way you treat him. Or rather, I want to see the unshot scenes between the two of you, because please, please tell me you guys talk. Some. At least a little. Please tell me you do go on dates now, please tell me you don't let him feel like the dirty secret office affair. He deserves so much more than to think he gives you great sex while you long for Gwen. Please.

Also, the whole Toshiko/Owen thing is so badly written and inconsistent from one episode to the next, what is up with that?

YES. ARGH. This episode pissed me off SO MUCH. I thought Jack was making an effort to not make Ianto feel like his bit on the side for when he doesn't feel like brooding about Gwen.

Now, as much as I love Jack (most of the time) and Jack/Ianto, I really want a fic (or hell, an episode) where Ianto lays down the law with Jack. And if Jack still wants to pine after Gwen, I am positive that there are many women and men who would actually be appreciative of how 100% awesome Ianto is.

An episode would be brilliant, but god, I don't think that's going to happen. All episode long I expected Jack to tell Gwen about Ianto, so she could shut up about him not knowing what it was like, etc. When Ianto and Rhys got caught I was all, a-ha! Finally Jack is going to show he cares! Even if not in the way he deals with the bad guys, then after Ianto is rescued (for a second I was afraid they were going to kill him off, oh god). But no, no, and also no.

Ianto is always there for Jack and it's eating at me watching these eps because, I don't know. Ianto got under my skin, you know the way at least one character, rarely more in the one universe (unless we're talking Firefly), gets under your skin and gets to own a little bit of your heart? That's Ianto for me, and I just want to smack Jack. You idiot.

I was hoping for the same thing; I got excited because I thought they were setting up a sort of mirror to threatening Rhys causing an instant surrender with Gwen by threatening Ianto causing an instant surrender in Jack. But, like you said, no.

It's funny, because I was just today thinking the same thing about Ianto getting under my skin. I went into this show loving Jack, and though he pissed me off I still love him. But Ianto is the one who I just want so badly to be happy. It's strange, because Jack is that character for me also, but only when he's on Doctor Who.

I love Ianto's suits. =D

OMG! Just watched the episode and I have so many mixed feelings about it, it's getting to me.
Ianto's the one character I truly love in that show, he grew on me like I would never have expected him to at first, but the way he's treated... that pisses me off to no end.

The beginning of season 2 had led me to believe that the whole secret thing was over and that Ianto and Jack were sort of an official item. Apparently I was once again sadly mistaken since Gwen seems to remain as oblivious as ever.
Why doesn't Jack at least mention he's with someone or something like that when he's with Rhys?
And what's with the whole Jack/Gwen thing? Wasn't that dealt with a long time ago? She can get away with everything just because she's Gwen bloody Cooper? WTF?

So on one hand I hated that episode because it sorts of lead us to believe the whole Ianto/Jack thing is just a part-time shag, and not a proper relationship where they go on dates and talk!! (So with you on that one!).
But on the other hand, I loved it, because Ianto goes on missions with the rest of the team and he ROCKS so hard! He doesn't wait for Jack to rescue him, he's important to the success of the mission, etc... yay! At last!

Inconsistent really describes well those first episodes, relationships-wise, whether it be Ianto/Jack or Owen/Tosh.
The looks between Jack and Ianto still confirm they have an on-going thing, but... aghhhhhh! It's just driving me crazy.

I want to see/read what happens right after that episode, when Ianto gets into Jack's face about his attitude towards Gwen! Come on, Jack! He's not a puppy you can keep kicking and that'll always come back no matter what.

Can't wait to see next week episode too! I've been avoiding spoilers like the plague so far...
