He's not too good either, is he? Not even sure he's Scottish, it sounds like a fake accent to me! Who's the fraud?
Scottish? Sounds more like a cockney to me. Ridiculous foreign accents :D (He is very good in it, I will say. Lovely natural delivery.)
Chiwetel Ejiofor as in Serenity's Chiwetel Ejiofor? *squees*
I guess so! I think he was in "Neverwhere" too, but I haven't seen him.
When-I-get-money, I will look into going to the theatre more. I'm sure a couple of good productions come up here.
Oh, I saw the 1999 film version of MSND the other day and it was bland and pretty throughout except for an extraordinary moment near the end. Sam Rockwell, playing Thisbe's mourning speech, suddenyl drops the squeaky voice, takes off the wig and acts the hell out of it, completely seriously. It was the most intense and well-acted scene in the whole film and very daring in the context of such a bland production. I wonder why they did that?
Shakespeare adaptations lover that I am, I've heard such bad things about that film that I never actively tried to see it. But now, if only for that scene, you've made me sort of curious...
Have you seen Stage Beauty? Not a Shakespeare adaptation per se, but a very good film with amazing actors, a wonderful script, and Shakespeare love all right. One of my favourite films of all times, which is saying a lot.
