I'm back!

Had a nice little holiday in Brittany, despite overall pretty crappy weather. I spent quality time with the family (I love my family!), ate some niiiice food, did some shopping, did some watching, did some iconing, did some writing. I'll post the writing as it gets betaread and approved for posting, and there'll be an icon post one of these days, and as for the watching...

Finally! The first few eps of Samurai Champloo, which my brother just happened to have. I adore Jin. So much. But Mugen? He just seems like a simplified version of Spike to me (Spike of Cowboy Bebop). That said, he might be developped later on, as I hope Jin will be. I hope the show will reach the complexity of Cowboy Bebop, because it certainly has the potential but my brother seemed to say it didn't. ([livejournal.com profile] cinnamongrr1, could you please point me to any good fansubs? Pretty please with Haldir on top?)

Then, Ghost in the Shell. The Stand-Alone Complex, I have yet to see the films. The first two episodes left me a bit sceptical, but then it just got so very good. Love the characters, love the issue of the "ghost." Loved it all. Togusa and Batou have all my love. The major too. That scene where Batou screams her name? And then how they made fun of him for it, and poor Togusa was all lost and confused. I loved it! And bloody hell, I actually got teary about the Tachikomas' sacrifice. Talk about getting a ghost.

I must now go raid my brother's room for Berserk. I'm so very interested in it since it stems from an Icelandic myth. Yay!

That was for my growing anime love. I also kept watching Boomtown (which I got on dvd), and oh how I love this show. The characterisation is brilliant, the acting amazing, the directing - well, I noticed the directing! Me! It has to mean it's bloody wonderful. And the writing? Oh gods the writing! People, if you haven't seen that show, find it, and watch it.

Special kudos go to Donnie Wahlberg.

I also watched Wimbledon again, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kowaio, and I still love it just as much! Paul rocks my socks. As does Bernard Hill, really, but not quite in the same way.

Other than that, we went to the cinema on Sunday night and caught Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which was really excellent. I didn't think I'd say that, but truly. It's such good entertainment, well-written, well-acted, everything. And I love Brad Pitt. So. Much, right now. Loved Vince Vaughn, too. I laughed quite a bit. Ok, more than a bit. And people clapped at the end!

Also watched 2x06 of Rescue Me, and am now consumed with anxiousness about the fate of a particular character. And I wanna comfort another one so much. Aw. Poor baby.

I'm now trying to catch up with my flist, but it's quite hard. I'll try to at least read whatever fiction has been posted, but I can't make any promise.

And I love Nathan Fillion.

Brad Pitt really was adorable in that film. Wasn't as impressed with Jolie's character. Not remotely appealing.

He was! Aw. And yes, I had trouble with her character too. Girlfriend didn't, though, she liked her more than him for a while... but I just couldn't feel for her.

*sends love to Brad Pitt*

Whee! Someone else that likes Boomtown. I adore that programme so much, but thought I was pretty much alone...

And Mr. and Mrs. Smith- had to drag someone out to see it with me, and then drag them out so they didn't stay for the whole of the credits at the end. Certainly exceeded expectations.

I adore Boomtown. You are so very much not alone, since it was actually recommanded to me by a friend, who probably recc'ed it to so many other people... There must be at least a small circle of French persons that love it.

It certainly did. It was so accurate and spot-on in the derision...

And I love Nathan Fillion

It's always good to see that statement and feel that there is Nathan Fillion love in the air. What a perfect way to end a post.

*grins* I think so too.

Because they never - ever - make mistakes.

I have to see Mr and Mrs Smith!! But now it's too late for me to download it :S. I don't know how I manage to forget about that all the time ^^

That's a shame! Real good movie.
