Ah, see, we're just going to disagree here. First off, I don't think very highly of Bram Stoker's writing skills. Second off, I loved Coppola's version. Dracula is the sort of story that has been shot again and again, always taking a different turn depending on the period it's shot in. It's a reflection of its age. And the Coppola version was that, on top of being amazingly shot.
That said, I much preferred the guy who played John (I will one day remember his name - Casanova Jr!) to Marc Warren. He was the good surprise of the movie.
