A show with Greg Grunberg and Adrian Pasdar? Oh yeah.

It all sounds very X-Men-like, except without the comic-ness to it. But here's to hoping it's well-written, in a funny-and-dramatic style. And that it makes the most out of its actors. Greg blew me away in House, and ever since I've been dying to see him well used somewhere else. As for Adrian (think Profit, people, although he was also in some sci-fi show I never did watch, Mysterious Ways or something?), he looks very sleek and oh, that man can be so chilling.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] meivocis has posted her AR3 pictures (the con with Greg Grunberg and David Anders) and you should all go see them and squee over the pretty and the cute. Link to that Heroes trailer here thanks to her.

I should be watching more Jury. Although [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton has given me this craving for a Richard Armitage fix, and my North & South DVDs are looking very tempting right now. But no, no, I should keep on going with the Jury. Gerard Butler and Nina Sosanya. Let's focus on them. Not that it's all about the pretty; it is, as ever, a brilliant series. (Am I the only one that dislikes Derek Jacobi? God, but the man annoys me. I don't know why.)

I just realised I hadn't spread the word! Woe.

You can sign up for the Alias: Dearly Departed ficathon until tomorrow. Hurry up! You know you want to help some of those dearly departed back to us. Not just the recently dearly departed, but anybody during those five seasons of very uneven quality.

And I forgot to mention - I got the second half of SPN yay! So. Pretty. I'd almost forgotten. I'm at 1x13 now.

And I have The Jury (the English one) to watch and I still haven't started. I also have Soccer Aid waiting for me. I can't believe I'm going to watch a football game. Honestly.

Ghost Whisperer is one of the worst shoes in the history of ever, and not even Sean Maher can make it any better.

Now, any of you think Little Fucker will be there for me to teach?

EDIT: omigodwhat? There's an upcoming Alias convention in London and GREG AND DAVID ARE BOTH ATTENDING? See, this is where it shows that I'm not nearly as dedicated to Alias as I am to Firefly, because I'm not really considering going, just wishful-thinking. Still, my little shipper heart is all a-thumping.

Spoilers... blah blah blah. )

Lost non-finale. )

Right. Well. The good thing? I definitely won't be holding my breath until next season week.

As for Alias... (spoilers for this week's, obviously) )

Spoilers for Alias 5x14. )

Now, as far as Lost 2x21 goes... )
fan_elune: (alias weiss)
Alias makes me want to cry. (Spoilers for this week's episodes.) )

Where's my own private Stephen Fry to cuddle? I could use one right about now.
fan_elune: (drew)
First off, J. Michael Straczynski's statement about Andreas Katsulas. It makes my heart break a little.

I'll move on to Lost. Spoilers up to One of Them. )

And good news for Lost! There is still hope. They've signed on Drew for two years. I love my master: "There's a simple formula to the kinds of scripts I write," he told Daily Variety. "Basically, people talk about their feelings, something explodes and/or a fight breaks out, more talking about feelings, someone bleeds to death and then everyone makes jokes about their pain."

He's also writing the 100th Alias episode, for those who care. Hopefully it'll make up for what-was-it-called, the absolutely BORING last episode he wrote on that show. Was it Mockingbird? Might have been. In any case, it was a let-down coming from him. Drew, you're capable of greatness. Help them put Lost back on track! And don't screw up Alias, kthx.

Decided against watching some West Wing, as that might just lead to tears. Went for The Bourne Supremacy instead, because Karl-Urban-(and-Marton-Csokas-)lust is much less with the sadness. Are they doing a third film after all? Also watched Alias's latest. My thoughts on it. )

Finally, a meme gakked from I have no clue who... probably many of you. 2005 review. )
fan_elune: (writing)
Something about the plot of Alias 5x08 bugs me. Spoilers, obviously. )

Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] stampinground:

1. My username is ____ because ____.
2. My journal is titled ____ because ____.
3. My subtitle is ____ because ____.
4. My default userpic is ____ because ____.

1. fan_elune: well, Fan' would be me. Because Fanny just doesn't go over as well with English speakers. And Elune is a moon goddess in Warcraft, and that's all [livejournal.com profile] pee_wai's fault. I'm the Elune to his Shando.
2. Fan''s Ranting Place: well, it's all in the name. I originally came to LJ so I would stop flooding Joey's mailbox with my rants, and share them with whoever wanted to read them instead.
3. And Writing Journal: again, all in the name. Because the other thing I use LJ for is to post my writings. It's actually pretty much replaced my poor, neglected site.
4. "Writing Addict." Because I am. Addicted. To writing. And it doesn't hurt that the cap actually is Chaucer from A Knight's Tale.

And tagged by [livejournal.com profile] jade_plume: name 5 of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick 5 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used. Tag 5 people on your list.

Drinking mulled wine on a Christmas market, preferably when it's snowed. Dancing and/or bouncing along to some music, alone in the living room. Blowing steam onto a window and drawing something (incredibly silly) on it. Biting into a perfectly ripe apple and licking at what little juice surfaces. Waking up just long enough to check the time, then going back to sleep all warm and comfy.

Not tagging anybody. Do it if you wanna!

Also, Joey has a new computer. PC, but very cool, called Harken (after the Alliance commander from Bushwacked, because we're sticking with the Firefly theme), and she's remodelling all her softwares into looking as much like Mac softwares as you can for PC stuff. Heh. Amused is me.

OMFG Alias can still be good. Alias 5x08 spoilers. )

Alias 5x06 and 5x07. )

Have finally met my cousin Christophe, that lives in Paris and works in a production company. He's just as interesting and lovely as the e-mails we'd exchanged had hinted at. And he loved A History of Violence quite as much as I did. (Go see it, people.) It was unexpected since my father just came home with him (thus me in my lame old red sweater thing I wouldn't get caught dead in in public), and definitely of the good.

Look at the following list (behind the cut) and:
1) Bold what is true about you.
2) Italicize what you wish was true about you.
3) Add one true thing about you to the end of the list.
4) Tag 5 LJ friends (well, do it if you want)

Pretty damn long. )

Have watched Alias 5x05. )

Watching Lost 2x05 again with Joey made me realise I hadn't reviewed it yet. So, here goes. )

Now, Alias. This is gonna be quick. BORED was me. I can't believe Drew wrote that one. Bored bored bored. There was nothing - nothing - Drewesque about it. How utterly horrible and disappointing.

In Drew-related news, Marti Noxon said in an interview that Tim Minear and Drew were the likeliest to write the Spike movie, since Joss wasn't interested in doing that himself. There's supposed to be a Spike movie? O-kay. Joss? Just because you managed to get Serenity back in the air on a big screen doesn't mean you have to do that with all your universes. Really.

I'm every bit afraid of what a Spike movie would be like.

And, finally, have realised that Mal/River intrigues me, and makes sense. When well-written, of course. Anybody has any recs? I could use them.

Lost 2x04 - the Hurley ep. )

Alias 2x03 - 'Boring boring boring.' )

Unrelated, but I've just chatted with Etienne on MSN - Etienne was the other French assistant at the school where I worked near Manchester last year. He's going back to visit everybody in January. Oh how I longed to be able to say "wait, I'll book the same dates! I'm coming too!" *heaves a deep, deep sigh* I miss this place and those people so much. It's all the harder to turn my back on it that I had a bloody job over there, and I liked it, and Etienne and I both wish we'd stayed on another year. But regrets are hardly constructive. I need to look to the future.

My thoughts on Lost 2x03. )

And now Alias 5x02. )

And, last but not least, I just have to share. A while back, Morena, Summer, Nathan and Joss did a live chat for Empire. And they were hilarious, but this one question (or, mostly, the response it got) particularly amused me.

escapedape: Who keeps the raw sex power of Alan Tudyk in check?
Nathan: Ron Glass.
Joss: There is a facility in Montana where they have to put him when it gets too bad.

Joss's reply is priceless on its own, but Nathan's is even more when you bear in mind that Alan, when asked which was the most handsome man of the cast, answered Ron. Honestly. Which I can understand.
That said, Empire = love. Excellent interviews (of Joss and all our BDH but Ron) and the transcript of this chat can be found here.

EDIT: I almost forgot. Shame on me! But I love Jonathan Woodward for a number of reasons, not the least of which is his latest LJ entry. Which I was about to link to, but it seems to have disappeared. Anybody else read it before it was gone? I should have copied and pasted it, but how was I to know? It was about owning up to who you are, just being yourself (and about coming out?). It was all manners of moving.
fan_elune: (ring fetish)
So, I've been pretty silent lately, but I've been watching things. Like The Brothers Grimm, wherein Heath Ledger redeemed my faith in his acting skills. More on that and on the film. )
And now a bit with spoilers. )
And now for something completely different, Keane. )

What else... Oh, yes. Supernatural, the pilot. Jensen Ackles = teh pretty. But apart from that? Well, his brother's cute too, I'll give them that. But, while I have only seen the pilot, it still feels like there isn't much but that to the show. It seems so very... unsurprising.

Oh, and I haven't actually shared my thoughts on the second episode of Lost. Let's remedy to that. )

And, oh yes, the Alias pilot. Which totally fascinated me, not. I was very much not into it, and that was fairly annoying. But, well, Elodie Bouchez. And Victor Garber, as always. So I'll wait and see.

And, finally, about Serenity. I feel a bit disconnected from it all, since it's not like we here can go and improve the numbers. But while I was at first really annoyed that it wasn't doing that good, I've cheered up since. We shouldn't have had a film to start with, that's a small miracle already. We got to see our Big Damn Heroes once more. I'm gonna stick with being happy about that. Even if we don't get anything more, we'll have had more than Fox let us. What do you mean, the goal wasn't to screw Fox over all along?
fan_elune: (bubbly)
I just watched the end of Alias S4 (though, [livejournal.com profile] twixou, episode 20 did not work - same problem as I'd had with 1x12 of Lost I think). And I just have to say, I'm far less annoyed at this cliffhanger than at the other end-of-season cliffhangers he'd pulled up before. I'm actually interested in knowing what was up with that character.

I'd rant, but I have to go.
fan_elune: (Default)
So I'm back. In England. Break out da pompoms!... Not. It's odd how leaving for Easter, I felt crushed, but coming back here now does not feel that wonderful after all. I blame mostly [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh, but not only. In any case, it's still good to see those familiar faces again. The guys did not travel much in my absence, which makes me feel less like I've missed something. And I'm so very happy I wasn't there when two certain someones went bar-crawling through Canal Street and actually got thrown out of Via Fossa. Argh.

Just a quick mention of Russell T. Davies' Casanova. If the name rings a bell (not Casanova, the other one), think Queer as Folk and Bob and Rose. Despite this, I was afraid I might not like it, more specifically because the main actor ruffled my feathers somehow. But in truth he is a rather endearing Casanova, not quite what you'd expect and thus quite welcome. It's a refreshing program with good writing and great actors. Kudos to Russell!

Now, a few musings on Lost and Alias... And when I say "a few musings" I actually mean a gui of a rant (feel free to make this a plural).

Spoilers for up til Lost 1x19, Deus Ex Machina )

Spoilers for up til Alias 4x13, Tuesday )

And just because it's been a long time since I last said it:

Ultimate Drew rocks!

And so does David Fury. I should look into becoming a *insert the David equivalent of Drew's Minions*.
fan_elune: (Default)
So, yes, I finally watched Welcome to Liberty Village. And my favourite scene was, obviously, *points at the title of the entry* I heart Weiss and you-guys-who-watch-it-know-who (absolutely gorgeous and charming) and that first scene was brilliant. I couldn't possibly resist it either. As for the episode itself, it wasn't half as good as a Drew Buffy (or some Angel) episode, but it was far from bad. This one and 4x04 Ice tend to make me have high hopes for the rest of the season; they were much better written than what they had accustomed us to. I'm slightly disappointed that Drew's Marshall wasn't more... amusing, and geeky. Drew can write the best geeks (just look at Andrew), I don't know what went wrong here. But really, you see in that pre-credits scene what his forte is. I'm not surprised his Weiss is so, er, Weissian. How else to put it? And the point he makes? Oooooh yes. That's why I'm turning into a true Sarkney. Though not really.

That being said, sis is back home and hopefully all right, I haven't had any news. Also, people, I'd muchly appreciate it if you didn't send me any e-mails during the next week or so. School starts up on the 22nd and I won't have internet access until then, and I'd love not to have full mailboxes when I come back. So if you have anything to tell me, can you please wait before sending it? Ta.

I do plan for this weekend to be excellent even though apparently we don't know where to sleep on Saturday... Just kidding, I'm really not too worried about that. Things will work out in the end. Tonight I'll be meeting up Noelle (can't for the life of me remember how you write your username - misskao, miss_kao?), wheee! So, yeah, for those who don't know, I'm flying to Dublin tonight!

Unrelated - I've kept in touch with JJ, one of the teachers from the French exchange. He seems to be a great guy, really. And he loves his kids so much, it's a pleasure to hear him (or well, read him these days) speak about them. I don't know how we managed exactly but in the course of just a few e-mails we've come to discuss life and death, religion, sexuality and family. Phew. :)
