1. OH MY GOD MY (USUALLY) BEAUTIFUL TWINS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR HAIR?!? Also this is slightly spoilerish for OotP the movie. (Think Harry Potter 5, people.) But, seriously. You guys used to be so attractive! Damn.

2. This is a public service announcement. [livejournal.com profile] heikki_cheren, you were right. Dr. Pepper is indeed better when it comes in a bottle. [livejournal.com profile] cerulean_blu, thank you so much for having provided this latest fix. I enjoyed it until the very last drop. *checks the bottle* Yeah, really, it's as empty as it can be.

3. So I caught sight of Donnie Wahlberg on a banner for Runaway - had to try it out. What is it with ruining people's attraction by way of their hair these days? Not only Donnie (who still rocks my world as an actor, mind), but also Sandrine "needs to have DB Woodside's babies she's so pretty" Holt. Also, so not hooked.

4. VM premiere: HOT DOG! I love Keith. They mentioned Spamalot! (It was Spamalot, [livejournal.com profile] emma_daisy. I blame Alan and my Monty Python love.) Oh, Logan, you still own me, and Piz needs to be bi because he and Logan, well, yeah. Also when did Wallace become sexy and I love Mac, and Dick, oh, you jerktastic jackass I love so hard. (Are they gonna go for Mac/Dick?)

5. Heroes premiere: can I please have more? Greg wasn't even in it and I loved it. Adrian! Adrian was great and I love his brother for the sole reason that, cute, but mostly, mostly I'm in love with Mohinder Suresh who absolutely needs to get down and dirty with someone. And Isaac. MmmmIsaac. I'm sorry I'm a sucker for... him. Not to be spoilerish. And Hiro is SuperGeek and yay! I also surprisingly like the cheerleader.

6. Studio 60 102: now that's what I'm talking about! I loved it so hard, and much more than the pilot, probably because I felt like Amanda Peet was less in it? Oh, Matt, oh, Danny, oh ALL OF YOU GUYS it was just so good and Sorkinesque and the best clock fic is already getting written about it and of course it would be because the clock is Sorkinesque and BRILLIANT. *clings to Aaron* Missed this. Sarah Paulson rocks my world a little more each time I see her.

7. Grey's: Derek and Meredith can you go and die? Possibly on another show? Kthx. Bailey owns me. So do Cristina and Burke and also oh god Izzie. I love that they're not glossing over it. Addison marry me will you?

8. Nip/Tuck: I LOVE that they're daring to go down that road. I wonder how far they'll go. It's Nip/Tuck, you can never be sure of anything.

9. I can't really think of a 9 right now, but I like that number.

EDIT: REAL NUMBER NINE! LJ's still being a bitch with my comment notifications. Sorry if it seems like I'm ignoring you.

EDIT: And we have a number TEN! Which is more than fitting. Who-related! Seen on [livejournal.com profile] kabukivice's journal. Do you all remember Jacky-boy Jake, the oh so gay resistance fighter whose accent I kept squeeing at who was totally hot for Mickey, or so we all said? Well, he really was supposed to be. This is what Russel had to say about it: "I hate all these shows which have rubbish gay relationships, and I took another look at the script and realised it was cheap, soapy nonsense. I won't have cheap gay references." I totally wish he'd left it in.

My Five Guilts. (Yeah, I know, only five?) )

Originally gakked from [livejournal.com profile] anna_tarawiel, but it's popped up all over the flist since. Choose twelve characters from your fandoms, then answer the questions under the link. Do not look at the questions beforehand.

01. Logan Echolls (Veronica Mars)
02. River Tam (Firefly)
03. Gene Hunt (Life on Mars)
04. Captain Jack (Doctor Who)
05. Wash (Firefly)
06. Geoffrey Chaucer (A Knight's Tale)
07. Commodore Norrington (The Pirates of the Caribbean)
08. Nine (Doctor Who)
09. Haldir (LotR)
10. Lucius Malfoy (Harry Potter)
11. Methos (Highlander)
12. Dana (Sports Night)

Questions madness! )

Okay, now I'm off to procrastinate by finishing editing NaNo, and then if Joey's still not back I might actually try to write something. I swear. I need to get my muses back, seriously.

Note to self: try and write some Pirates fic in the not too terribly distant future. It's been too damn long. I miss it.

Going picture-hunting for that Top 100 of mine is a rather tricky business. One minute you're traumatised by the Phelps twins' new haircut, the next you're OMFGing over the fact that David Tennant and Kelly Reilly did Look Back In Anger together. Am now seized by a rather overwhelming urge to reread that play. And picture those two as Jimmy and Allison. Just look at those pictures, especially that last one, dear gods. The intensity. Oh, how I wish I could have seen this.

Will now go crash in bed instead of diving into John Osbourne, as I am afraid that I have, horror of all horrors, resumed a more or less normal sleeping cycle (who'd have thought, with new year and all). [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton, see what happens when you're not around to keep me awake through the night? For shame.

So, Goblet of Fire was seen and, surprisingly, enjoyed. Why surprisingly? Because it's my favourite book, and they've changed many a thing, or at least omitted many a thing, and most of my favourite characters didn't get near enough screen time (apart from the twins) and some of the dialogue was just... bad. But I definitely enjoyed it. More on that, definite spoilers involved, and lots of fangirling. I mean LOTS. )

And for a review that is definitely shorter, much less with the fangirling and much more with the thinking, and spoiler-free. )

Finally, I've watched State of Play. (Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] south_uist!) And it was, expectedly, incredibly good. Just look at that cast. More cast squeeage. ) Anyway. Great script, great directing, great acting... I loved it. And highly recommand it.

Dammit. Marc Warren makes me want to:
1) see Green Street Hooligans. NOW.
2) buy meself some Hustle DVDs. NOW.

Also, there's an ad for Pride and Prejudice in Premiere, and it'll be released some time in January. Which feels like ages from now. Forlorn is me. (Because "forlorn" seems a much better word to associate with this movie than a mere "sad.")

I love the International trailer for Serenity!

Also, incidentally...

I have it!!!

"It" is, of course, Harry Potter. Will be off to read it very shortly, but first, you guys have about half a day to order drabbles out of me. I will be internetless until a week on Monday, so I'll be free to drabble away. (Well, drabbles or vignettes or ficlets or whatever I'll come up with.) So go on. Give me any specifications you want and I'll try and make y'all happy. Any fandom you know I like is fair game. Please? I need to get my creative juices going. (Bonus points for anyone who asks for DW stuff. I need to try my hand at some DW. I signed up for the Jack ficathon, btw!)

So come on, people, start asking.

Just a quick entry to say that:

a) I love Elliot Smith. My bro made me discover him and I love him! Brilliant songs.

b) I still don't have HP6, probably won't have it for a few days, and anyone who spoils me I will not hesitate to treat to my favourite of Harley's threats: dig out their prostate with a rusty butter knife. Except make that liver rather than prostate, so women are potential victims too.

c) I'm back in Paris for a little less than a week. On next Saturday I'm off to Brittany with my folks, going internet-less for a week or so. So y'all guys who're coming to the big birthday thing in Reims, if you wanna ask me anything about it before we're there, do it now.

d) I watched the Cowboy Bebop movie at last, and it was quite a good, long episode of the show. I really liked Electra (despite her name) and Vincent, especially in his echoing Spike. I wonder what it was like to people who didn't know the series, though. Anyone here's seen it without having seen the series? I'm curious. (And I still maintain that 'verse has many common points with the Fireflyverse.)

Must now shortly go and help sis and her boyfriend from a train station to another, and then out with the guys! Yay!

Well. Have not been updating too regularly, have I? That's all [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh's fault, really. She's keeping me far too happy. And when we're not exchanging cookie recipes, I've had to write. I'm proud to say both birthday fics were done on time! Granted has been posted and liked by Marion, so yay! Harshness, cold and deceit has been beta'ed and is ready to be posted on D-day.

On the English front: I'll be living in Grappenhall next year, a village not far from Warrington and Manchester. I got an e-mail from a German assistant I will be living with. I'll be working at Lynn High School. We attended a couple days' meeting in Besancon to prepare us for next year, it was most informative. I cannot wait to be there.

This weekend I left my flat for good. I won't miss the place so much as the people, though Nancy is a much finer city, in my opinion, than Reims. Still, it's good to be back here and see the family a bit. Will be leaving on the sixth of July to go to Rennes with [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh (she'll be leaving on the second). Have got my Sarkgasm t-shirt at last! Which makes me think I should write a small something about the last Alias episode. And HP3. And the end of Angel.

Alias finale )

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban )

The end of Angel )

And so, here is the first of the birthday fics. Written for Marion, aka samwise_gamgee_fan. Set after Buffy's season seven and during the War of the Ring.

Granted )

Alright, so here's all the stuff I wanted to post these last few days, and the great update-via-email service didn't work.

What you guys missed )

So yeah, my weekend wasn't terribly exciting - I'm supposed to be studying, after all. Cinnie is helping me improve FoF, though, and she's the best of helps. Really.

Also, since exams are coming up, muses are in a frenzy and I started working on a couple of birthday fics for people on Cinnie's mailing list. Yay! I hope they'll like them... and I hope I get them finished in time, too. One of them will be my first forray into that fandom and I'm rather anxious about it. Oh well. Time will tell.
