x Jamie was awesome. Not as good a concert as two years ago at the Zenith, but that was due to the venue. Who wants seats at a Jamie Cullum concert? He sang Twenty Something, though, which is all I need to be happy. Covered Rhianna and Lauryn Hill. But failed to sing I Could've Danced All Night which made me and sis v. v. v. sad.

x He started covering Camille's Ta Douleur, like two years ago, except this time she suddenly started singing and then walked on stage. They've become friends in the meantime. Camille is made of awesome. She is the singing equivalent of a saner River, I swear. She was even dressed like River! What she does with her voice is amazing and I now very much want to buy her album(s?).

x I do not understand Julien Doré's latest video. Well, I mean, I understand it, I just... It's beyond me. Why he would choose to do this. On purpose. Willingly. On the bright side, the song and the video both are making me like his previous single Les Limites.

x Midnighter throwing down with Batman in an RP thread of ours is eating my brain.

x Heroes sucks now. Le sigh.

x True Blood still rocks, and not just because it gives us Eric in a black tank top. (Rawr.) Much more than 24, I think that this is a show I could watch in one go, one episode after the other. It pulls you in and doesn't let go. And Stephen Moyer was simply way too frakking adorable in that scene with the kids.

x I want to be watching Spooks already. The three eps are sitting at home, waiting for me. Richard!

x Speaking of awesome British actors, why is fandom erupting over David Tennant's decision to quit Doctor Who? We've known about this for a while, and he's got every right to move on with his career, especially given the frenzied, fanatic, crazy attention his part in Who has brought him. I like the rumour about Paterson Joseph. If we're not getting a woman, we might as well get a Black dude. (...sounds familiar?)

x Jon Stewart and I should be hetero life mates. He can be Jay. I'll be Silent Bob, minus the beard.

Truly, Madly, Deeply is playing on the telly at the office. I want to just stare at the screen for a while, but I don't think it'll go over too well. (A certain character in my head also wants me to stare at the screen for a while.)

I'm supposed to go pick up some tapes somewhere in the building and I'm procrastinating until the song is done.

I really do like Darren's stuff now so much better, though.

Speaking of, yes, I pre-ordered the Deluxe edition thingie of his Time Machine Tour DVD. I am weak. And he's so... ngh.

I still blame it all on [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton somehow. And [livejournal.com profile] twixou.

So, Steven Moffat continues to own me. Like that's a surprise. Not at all daydreaming about Alex-Kingston-as-River/James-Nesbitt-as-Eleven now.

Also, for a Kara-and-Leoben-free episode, I really enjoyed the last BSG! Both Helo and Laura are able to hold a storyline, and oh, Helo, how much I love you. I also liked an Eight for the first time in a long time, possibly ever. And and and! Gaius. Is next week the last one before hiatus? I shall cry. And then start watching my dvds so I can stand the wait.

Meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne. Please take me up on it! I feel like drabbling.

Comment with a sentence from one of my fanfictions. Without looking, I have to try and guess which fic of mine the sentence is from. If I fail, the challenger wins a drabble request. Post this in your own journal and let me challenge you!

PS: I don't like the latest Saez.

Edit: PLEASE SAVE ME FROM MY BOREDOM and take me up on this meme. You can find all my fanfiction under the fanfiction tag. Or just ask me for drabbles, I don't care, I just wanna be not bored anymore.

Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] queenspanky: go here and refresh until you find five quotes that have meaning for you.

Language most shews a man: Speak, that I may see thee.
Ben Jonson

The world's as ugly as sin, and almost as delightful.
Frederick Locker-Lampson

We don't know who we are until we see what we can do.
Martha Grimes

The price of freedom of religion, or of speech, or of the press, is that we must put up with a good deal of rubbish.
Robert Jackson

But all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time.
Mitch Albom

I can't stop watching Deadwood. The only reason why I have is that I needed to rip JJG's En Passant album. Tout Etait Dit is quite simply one of the truest songs I have ever heard and either I'm gonna keep listening to it on a loop or I'm going to go back to Deadwood. Or alternate both. That sounds likely.

Oh, my god. Common Rotation kick so much ass still! I'm so happy to have seen them again, and thank you Stéphanie. Thomas Brun opened, a very good folk rock French singer, and then was David Berkeley.

DAVID BERKELEY. I knew I knew that name. And then, [livejournal.com profile] gabby_silang and [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton, he sang Moon Song, and I was so. fucking. happy. He told me he didn't usually sing it, and only sang it because he knew the word "lune". The cutie spent the whole time in between songs speaking broken, incredibly cute French. He is the sweetest guy ever and I want to stroke his hair. A lot. He's going to be living in Corsica next year, and plans on learning more French. Hee!

And then, of course, Common Rotation. Jordan wasn't here (touring with the Wu Tang Clan?), and I don't think there would have been room for three on the mini-stage anyway, but still. Sadface. But Eric and Adam were their usual amazing selves! Eric's settled down a lot, and Adam... oh, man, Adam. I will never stop adoring this man. And wanting a threesome with his girlfriend and him. There is just so much energy coming from him, all the time, and he always looks so good on stage, and he's great to talk to afterwards, hanging out with the fans and all, and he's adorable and funny, and my favourite bit has to be when he and Eric asked if we'd like to swap presidents, and then said we could have Bush and they'd have Cecilia, and then they broke into Simon and Garfunkel's Cecilia and it was brilliant and awesome. And there are so many songs of theirs I didn't know 'cause I haven't been following their latest tracks and CDs and oh, man, I love them. Love them. So much happy tonight!

1. Doing the dishes along to Mika is not that good an idea, due to constantly stopping to dance around. (Bonnie, this is totally your fault. Possibly yours a little as well, Ko. I'm not supposed to like Mika.)

2. That run of co-stars in the Grey's double-parter? Oh good god. I had no idea. Although David Anders was so sadly underexploited, I surprisingly liked Merrin Dungey. Since when does that happen? And Piz and Taye and and and. I have no clue where I knew the other three doctors from seeing as IMDb and TV.com are failing me on this one. Woe!

3. Go check out David Walters' music. Impressive. Even more so in live.

4. Puresex and Bean are one of the slashiest things ever in Sharpe's Sword. Oh, god. In which Puresex is called Captain Jack Spears. Could it have been more phallic than that? I'm not sure. (Thank you thank you thank you Vae.)

5. I've plugged The Tudors to my Shakespeare teacher (who, as a Shakespeare scholar, didn't know who JRM was, but knew Jeremy Northam - she's seen him in Love's Labour's Lost I am so envious again). Yes, I'm shameless. But oh, my god, have you seen what they did last episode? It still makes me heee.

6. Semi-spoilerish dialogue for this week's SPN, in a oh GOD the slashiness way. )

7. Knowing that Robbie and Santiago Cabrera (Isaac in Heroes, Paolo in Love and other disasters) play football together puts wonderful slashy images in my head. Possibly because I can't help but slash Robbie with anything pretty that breathes within three feet of his. Apart from Dean Lennox Kelly, but that's just because Dean has got to be slashed with Jonathan Wilkes.

8. I want to see PotC3 already. I also want to stop hoping we get Sego elected. There is no link between those two statements other than the near-certainty to be direly disappointed. I'd rather PotC were crap and we got Sego, though.

9. I need to go clean the flat now. At least Mika will be good to hoover along to.

So I've been shite at keeping up with the flist for the past week and then some, and I don't think I'm going to catch up.

In other news, look how I'm not doing NaNo. NotnotNOT. I've resisted the Captain Jack muses, and trust me it wasn't easy. But I'm doing the responsible thing, which kills me a little inside because I feel like I haven't truly written any fic in ages. I miss it.

I know I mentioned it before, but for the, like, four Authority fans on my flist, is any of you into, or willing to give a go to, online RPing? More specifically, the Hero Network, where all comic books collide. It's loads of fun, full of amazing writers, and we've got our little family, Apollo, Midnighter and Jenny Q, and we would love other Authority people to play with. Perhaps not a Doctor (even though the kid intrigues me a lot) as his powers would be way off the chart for the comm, but an Angie or a Shen or a Jack. We even might have an opening for a Jenny Sparks through a plot that's going to come through soon, if anybody wants to take her up - she'd only be ghost-like, though. Which is bound to frustrate her something fierce and oh how we would love a Jenny Sparks.

And as far as timelines go, we went AU after Revolution.

Right. Now that that shameless bit of plugging and come-play-with-us! is done... Tonight's Jamie Cullum, and I'm driving home with the parents for the weekend. And I should go pack before I head to my Shakespeare class. Meh. But! Jamie Cullum!

Also I am forever indebted to [livejournal.com profile] south_uist because I have just received the whole of Oz'. Oh, god. Except ramblings ahead. It has been too long.

How's everybody doing?

So. Cultural moment for those of you not French: on June 21, each year, we have la Fête de la Musique, aka Music Day. Lots of performers everywhere, especially at night, in the streets, from established artists to small teen bands only doing covers. It's brilliant. And yes, it's tomorrow.

Now, you Parisians: where should someone who wants to hear good rock, and indie rock, that kind of stuff, head to for the Fête de la Musique ? Because I have no clue. And we might be taking some Italians around, and I'd hate to have them spend a bad Fête de la Musique. So, yeah. Suggestions, people, pretty please with Jason Mraz and/or Leisha Hailey on top?

I like this meme, and [livejournal.com profile] meivocis was doing it again, so I figured... yeah, let's go for another round.

1. Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
2. Post the first line(s) from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
3. Let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
4. Bold out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
5. Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING.

(Well, a meme and RPing smut.)

Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] emmelinesparrow.)

Your Life: The Soundtrack
So here’s how it works:
Open your choice of music player [iTunes, Limewire, Kazaa, etc.] and put it on shuffle.
Press play.
For every question type the song that’s on.
And when you go to a new question press the next button.
No cheating.
Ready?
GO!

My life's soundtrack. )

Which leads me to ask a few questions. First and foremost, what the hell was iTunes on when it picked those songs? But also: who put a Linkin Park CD on my iTunes? ([livejournal.com profile] pee_wai? Though I can't fathom why you'd do that.) And, also, where can I get the same crack that iTunes was on? Seriously.

Also. Because this is related to music, yes. I'd say "vaguely", but that would be meaner than what I actually think. How many people on my flist are into Darren Hayes exactly? Because he's creeping up all over the bleedin' place, to the point, B, where my own sister asked if she was the one that had given me Insatiable. I'm at this stage where I almost want to surrender and say "I give up, I don't care, I won't say a word against him again if you'll all just please stop."

I mean, it's not like he's as bad as Seal.

I think I'm gonna go listen to SG's Hold Me now. Because that one has actually really grown on me. *facepalm*

Despite appearances, Supernatural isn't the only thing on my mind.

I don't often remember dreams, but hell am I glad to remember this one.

I'm very fuzzy on the circumstances, but what I do know is that we were sitting on the grass outside a park (don't ask me why we weren't in the park, or who "we" are, other than "me and other people"), and that Ron and Alan came and hung out with us. For so long, and no reason whatsoever, they just came and sat with us and god Ron. I mean, of course, god Alan, but. Ron and his laugh and I just felt so at ease around him whereas Alan is more with making me feel all omgomgomgalan and yes I know it was just a dream but it's what I felt at the con, too. So there.

It was... very, very, very, very nice.

So SPN isn't the only thing on my mind. There's SPN and there's the BDH. What a surprise.

In unrelated news, [livejournal.com profile] gabby_silang? Joey has rediscovered the pictures of Charlie Hunnam you left on her laptop, and finally noticed the names you gave them, and she keeps pushing them at me and dear GOD.

Also, flist, I need your help. I'm doing something I should've done a while ago, that is setting up a playlist for smut-writing. Any suggestions? What do you all write smut to?

At last, an update! And a real one at that. I've had such little time to myself, and I need to polish up that translation of "Almost Normal" I'm doing for the Nuit Rose ("Pink Night," it's an event organised by the LGBT youth association Joey works at, where they show gay and lesbian films, and this one needs subtitles), but I thought I really should update now or else I never would. 'Cause I keep going all lazy at the thought of everything I need to talk about. So, here goes.

Sports Night goodness. )

Life on Mars yay! )

The pilot of Numb3rs. )

Whedonesque-type stuff. Kane, Nathan and Jonny! )

I had so many things to update on, and now I can't remember any of them. *kicks at her memory* Come on!

What I haven't forgotten is: happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] miss_kao! Want to add something for you to the list of birthday drabbles I will definitely get to writing one of these days? (I'm sorry, guys. I suck.)

In other news, we bought the plane tickets for Serenity Cubed. I'm also fangirling over the geekness that is David Tennant after a chat with [livejournal.com profile] randomling. I'm a sucker for geeks, what can I say. When is season two starting already?

Oh, one thing I did want to update about was Fruits Basket, which I've started reading thanks to [livejournal.com profile] overcraft. And boy, is it not my kind of manga. I'm hanging on because there's a couple of interesting characters, but really, right now, it's just making me miss the hell out of Berserk. I need to check if there are new scans available.

Ah! Just thought of another thing. I finally signed up on last.fm and the username is fan_elune if you wanna friend me.

Finally, for all of you who do not understand why Adrien Brody made #2 on my list of hotties... What is wrong with you? )

In unrelated news, my girlfriend has turned into a ruthless movie producer who happens to get a kick out of making buildings explode. When did that happen? ...I like it best when I'm the Slytherin of the two of us.

Edit: because I forgot to add that OMG ALAN CUMMING TOTALLY OWNS ME. Billy and Max are definitely a biiiiig part of why I'm still watching The L-Word.

As far as Nip/Tuck goes... I like it. Ish. Mostly, I like it. Yeah, I like it. Yeah, no, I actually do. I was very afraid a couple times, but, yeah. Like it. Love it, even. And... you-know-who. I'm predictable.

And now, the songs meme! Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] stampinground and [livejournal.com profile] gambits_rogue: put your playlist on shuffle mode. Pick out a line from the first 20-25 songs. Have your friends guess the title and artist.

Lyrics aplenty. )

Just a quick entry to say that:

a) I love Elliot Smith. My bro made me discover him and I love him! Brilliant songs.

b) I still don't have HP6, probably won't have it for a few days, and anyone who spoils me I will not hesitate to treat to my favourite of Harley's threats: dig out their prostate with a rusty butter knife. Except make that liver rather than prostate, so women are potential victims too.

c) I'm back in Paris for a little less than a week. On next Saturday I'm off to Brittany with my folks, going internet-less for a week or so. So y'all guys who're coming to the big birthday thing in Reims, if you wanna ask me anything about it before we're there, do it now.

d) I watched the Cowboy Bebop movie at last, and it was quite a good, long episode of the show. I really liked Electra (despite her name) and Vincent, especially in his echoing Spike. I wonder what it was like to people who didn't know the series, though. Anyone here's seen it without having seen the series? I'm curious. (And I still maintain that 'verse has many common points with the Fireflyverse.)

Must now shortly go and help sis and her boyfriend from a train station to another, and then out with the guys! Yay!

Not much with the updating lately. I've been busy growing a new obsession (and getting a BMB mood theme ready), but more on that in a minute. First off, news from me. I'm slowly catching up on some sleep, that is to say I feel less lethargic and can actually function through most of the day, and I don't need as much caffeine as I used to a couple weeks ago. Am getting tattooed at last on Friday! *insert a sound that expresses both intense joy and the dread of upcoming agony* I've wanted a tat - or rather, that particular tattoo - for six years now, and I'm finally getting it. It's that of the tribal-like pendant I always wear and I'll have it done on my ankle, hence the expectation of much, much pain. But it'll look wicked!

We still haven't gone out properly yet, but I have hopes for this weekend. I miss Canal Street (yeah, I know, not everybody's case). Oh, and unrelated but wheee! I got the video of Kissing Jessica Stein! It was brought in for the bring-and-buy sale for the disaster in Asia on Friday except it was in a box that did not make it to the sale, so it's only getting sold now. It's not the best movie ever, but it sure is a hell of a lot better than But I'm a Cheerleader isn't too bad either.

Also, I've started up a writing RPG with [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh, all around original characters this time. Not such an original premise, but oh well. *grin* It's going to be excruciatingly slow to write, with only being able to respond to each other once a day due to our hardly ever being online at the same time, but I'm sure it'll be worth it, if only for the fun had writing it. It's also a nice exercise for me to practice using external point of view, which is trickier than it seems. (The writers of WaTchers really do rock. Which makes me think, they're well into S2 by now and still being extremely good! And there's a spin-off, too.

And now, learn all about my latest obsession if you're not afraid to get spoiled for the whole of Nip/Tuck S2. )

And what about Closer? (spoiler-free, just my opinion) )
fan_elune: (nicky)
It's been a while, and I totally forgot to post those. If any of you cares about that 'guess what song it's from' post of mine a while back, here are the songs they all were.

Songs. )

Other than that, had a few revelations about Gaia. Well, not really revelations, but - anyway, to the point. I knew I wanted to do a Nicky episode, and I now know the two themes it's going to be about - his roots (who else was dying to meet his bastard of a father?) and his newly-defined sexuality. Or really, his not-quite-defined sexuality. Also, talking with Cinnie about taking typical situations the other way around made me give more of a thought to my idea of having one of the guys fall in love with a *woman* - I'd dropped the idea when I realised it was the premise of Russel T Davis' Bob and Rose , but as I haven't seen the series I can hardly be plagiarising it anyway. I'm thinking it'll be either a Jake or a Phil ep. Still no big boost of inspiration about the next episode though, which will be all Steve (which means, among other things, Seb sweetness goodness - how dearly I love the two of them).

Ah, I can't quite believe Joey will be here next Monday. It seems a bit surreal - in a bloody awesome way. Yay!
