Tomorrow cannot be here soon enough.
Aug. 5th, 2004 06:14 pmAm back to Rennes with
greenie_breizh. The good news is, my mailbox didn't explode. The bad news is... there's no bad news, really. Everybody starts arriving tomorrow for the birthday party, yay! Even though there have been last minute cancellations (snif), I cannot wait to see all of you guys who can make it. This will be of the much, much fun. I am looking forward to lots of dancing and quite a bit of cocktail goodness (Nekkid Mal anyone?).
It was good to show Jo around Erquy. Most of it hasn't changed, but it was off-putting to discover that, for example, some of the rocks we had given names to when kids had vanished. The Lac Bleu was still everything but blue, so at least that is constant. I love swimming in the sea, too, when not so much in swimming pools. We bathed even when the weather wasn't great (and it wasn't always, I love Brittany), courageous as we are. Last night my parents, some friends of theirs, Jo, my brother and I went to a very good restaurant called L'Escurial, it was absolutely delicious. Due to some sauce that got spilled on Jo's sweater, we even got offered a glass of serdon, a delicious rosé that's naturally bubbly, from the St Brieuc area... yum. How I do love good wine. (And being seated next to my mother has the advantage of me finishing her glass when she has had enough. She's not half as much of a wine lover as I am.)
Also, great news! My passport got here yesterday, it should arrive in the mail tomorrow. People, I am going to Iceland! We're leaving on the 10th, coming back on the 21st if I'm not mistaken. I can't wait, I'm quite curious about this country.
On the writing front, I haven't got much done. Am still stuck on Chapter Three as far as "Collion" is concerned, I need to get a hold of
cgwriting, since she so kindly agreed to beta'ing it, and start talking it out. However, what with my schedule, that will probably not happen until... phew. Late August? I did get some writing done, all on A Knight's Tale - it turns out my whole family loved the movie, so there were many a viewing of it. (Even the VF. Can I just say, blaaaaaah. Especially for Chaucer.) Anyway. Need to rework on the end of my Wat/Kate fic, since it lacks... something. It's just not good right now. Also wrote a first draft of my Chaucer fic, Jo assured me it wasn't total crap, so...
dragonfare, feel like betaing that too? It's slash. Well, there is no slash action, but... Very much the same concept as that in Listen.
