I'm relieved to say the people I know in London are fine. Yesterday I had a drink with a former pupil of mine and a friend of hers, we talked about London among other things, because what else? It's just... I remember when my mum came up and told me what had happened to the WTC on 9/11, it took a while to sink in. What it truly meant. All those deaths. Now we're prepared to such atrocities, my brain is well ready to acknowledge all that it means. Maybe that's the worst thing, beyond the sheer horror of the facts, that we live in a world that makes us ready to such things.
