I've watched the pilot of Leverage, the latest show with Chris Kane (thanks so much, E!). And watch out, it's actually quite good! Seriously. Reminds me a lot of Hustle (in fact, Gina Bellman plays an English grifter), down to the music which is sometimes very reminiscent of it.
Granted, I don't think it's as smooth and swanky (in a good way) as Hustle, but it's still fun, tight, and endearing. I really do like the characters, all of them - although I have my reservations about the way Gina Bellman is acting. I either love her or hate her, and the whole husky-voice thing she keeps doing in this? Not so much with the loving. Anyway! The characters! They're not as smooth as the Hustle characters, they're not as English, they're not as experienced, they're not as dryly funny, they're a bit too talented, but they're just plain fun and endearing. I already have a hell of a soft spot for the computer guy.
Does anybody know if it's been picked up, or when we're going to know if it is? Because I'd definitely love to see more of this. Not even just for Chris Kane. Shocker.
