fan_eluneWatching Lost 2x05 again with Joey made me realise I hadn't reviewed it yet. I actually really enjoyed it. Well, obviously. Sun and Jin = love. And she was ever so beautiful, once again. So, the flashbacks I really enjoyed, as well as listening to some more Korean (it's the tones I like most), although the whole 'lost ring' thing, not so much. Well, I liked the part with Hurley because, Hurley. But with Locke and with Kate? *eyeroll* Especially Kate.
Because if she was actually looking for something else than Sawyer's handwriting to cry over (boohoo), that was a crap excuse. And if she really was - what did she think, huh? Why would he possibly have put anything in the bottle? Anything? Kate, go get dead. Seriously.
Also, the whole "find it when you stop looking" thing? So very predictable and clichéd. But oh well. (Though, I wish. Lost one of my rings in the flat yesterday, have no clue where it rolled off to. Have now stopped looking for a good many hours, and still haven't found it. Hmpf.)
Analucia, though, I'm still really enjoying. Especially her interaction with Echo and Sawyer. Because those three I majorly love, and any permutation of them as well. (I don't mean to say as sex. Just sayin'.) Anyway, back to Analucia - she embodies survival, at all cost. Whilewhat's-her-name Blondie is all about fear. What does that make Bernard and Echo? Well... Bernard would probably be love, corny as it sounds. Echo, though... Echo's a mystery. I cannot wait to learn more about him. Who was he, in the civilised world? Triple-A (because all I can remember about the actor's name is that it's Adewale (maybe) A...-A..., so he'll be called Triple-A until I remember his full name - it's always better than Adebisi) is an amazing, impressive actor, and I'm thrilled at not being disappointed with what they're doing with him so far. And I really like his dynamics with Analucia, too.
As for Analucia/Sawyer, I love that it doesn't actually feel like flirting. Does it feel like flirting to anyone? It doesn't feel like flirting to me. It just feels like good ol' snark. And the "you gay?" bit? Man, if she hadn't hit on Jack before boarding the plane, I'd really have high hopes for that to be a hint and her to be gay.Oh, hell, in my mind she can still be bi.
That said. I'm really annoyed at Michael about "not the redneck." Stop blaming Sawyer, will you. I hate it all the more because their friendship - or the beginning of a possible friendship, really - was very interesting, and touching, especially with Sawyer being Sawyer and all. Guy doesn't usually open up to people. Anyway. I'm also annoyed at Sawyer for not going with Jin, but pleased at whoever wrote this episode for keeping him in character, even if that means he'll be a total watch-out-for-myself jerk.
The Jin/Echo bits - lovely, as is anything with Echo. I'm utterly fascinated. And the Others? I wasn't even annoyed that we got no answers! I loved what we saw, I thought it was great suspense, way to keep the audience on their toes, kudos to you guys.
So, I'm not a fan of the whole episode, but on the whole I really liked it. The preview for next episode, though? *eyeroll* *and then some*
Now, Alias. This is gonna be quick. BORED was me. I can't believe Drew wrote that one. Bored bored bored. There was nothing - nothing - Drewesque about it. How utterly horrible and disappointing.
In Drew-related news, Marti Noxon said in an interview that Tim Minear and Drew were the likeliest to write the Spike movie, since Joss wasn't interested in doing that himself. There's supposed to be a Spike movie? O-kay. Joss? Just because you managed to get Serenity back in the air on a big screen doesn't mean you have to do that with all your universes. Really.
I'm every bit afraid of what a Spike movie would be like.
And, finally, have realised that Mal/River intrigues me, and makes sense. When well-written, of course. Anybody has any recs? I could use them.
