Just to let you all know that I arrived safely and I'm looking forward to seeing or chatting with you all. How've you all been? I'm not going to be reading all your entries I missed, so if something of importance happened in your life that you think I should know, or would just like to know, please comment and tell me! As much as I enjoyed this year abroad (a whole bloody lot), being cut off from you has definitely been the main downside.

For those of you whose work I love... I don't expect to be catching up on all the fanfiction I've missed too quickly, but you will eventually get feedback. I'm planning an update of NLF soon with new icons and wallpapers, but I don't think there's any new fic on the menu. I'm still working on the Sarkney fic among other things, but my muses are a bit too passive these days and nothing good comes out of them.

Also, let me just say a quick word about how frustrating and depressing it was to follow the post-result frenzy on the radio. This sucks.

My Serenity pics are crap, but my CoRo rock, by the way! I do love Adam something fierce. And after watching the Lost finale, spoilerfree, I heart Sawyer, Mike and Jin. And Sayid, always and forever, so that's nothing new.

Hope to catch up with you all dead soon!

Tattoo is doing fine! I might put a pic on once I'm back in France, if I remember to. Things are so busy these days. On Tuesday and Wednesday we had meals/drinks with our sixth-formers, which was absolutely lovely and a bit on the heartbreaking side. On Thursday [livejournal.com profile] the_swordman and I took [livejournal.com profile] miss_kao to Manchester. In the afternoon we got a call from Madeleine (whose lj username I really can't remember, sorry luv), who was back in England for a few days and joined us with her brother later that evening. A really good surprise. We spent the evening in the Vanilla since on a Thursday, most of the other places are members only (and we tried that once, go thongs, so thanks but no thanks).

On Friday night was a meal with some of the staff at school, and on Saturday was... well, first was Episode Three, and I won't say anything other than we were all disappointed-slash-appalled. Then we went to Canal Street (we being Fred, his last remaining housemate Rico, and yours truly) and started off at the Vanilla before going to join some friends at Poptastic. I really like that place, by the way, shagtags included. Music's brilliant. We also met a Serenity attendee there (no, Jo, not our Scottish friend alas, but the thin Black guy).

And on Sunday, I watched Lost!! Spoilers ahoy! Up til 1x23. )

Also, now that I've seen as much B5 as I likely will for a while (at least until I get rich and buy it on DVD, including season 5 - or until someone who has season 5 can lend it to me), I reread the five parts I have of Pierce the Darkness, aka [livejournal.com profile] cgwriting's remarkable crossover of BtVS, LotR and B5. I read it once not having a clue about the Babylon station, then again after having seen a few episodes of S1, and one third time now. It's absolutely wonderful to get even more out of it with each new reading. You've done a wonderful job with this fic so far, Cinnie, and I can only hope to read more soon. Have you posted beyond part five?

In any case, I'll be back in France on Sunday night, but don't expect to see me online before Monday. I can't wait to talk to you all and catch up (among other things).

Sparing a thought for Leticia, who should be back in Tenerife by now. I miss her already.

So I'm back. In England. Break out da pompoms!... Not. It's odd how leaving for Easter, I felt crushed, but coming back here now does not feel that wonderful after all. I blame mostly [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh, but not only. In any case, it's still good to see those familiar faces again. The guys did not travel much in my absence, which makes me feel less like I've missed something. And I'm so very happy I wasn't there when two certain someones went bar-crawling through Canal Street and actually got thrown out of Via Fossa. Argh.

Just a quick mention of Russell T. Davies' Casanova. If the name rings a bell (not Casanova, the other one), think Queer as Folk and Bob and Rose. Despite this, I was afraid I might not like it, more specifically because the main actor ruffled my feathers somehow. But in truth he is a rather endearing Casanova, not quite what you'd expect and thus quite welcome. It's a refreshing program with good writing and great actors. Kudos to Russell!

Now, a few musings on Lost and Alias... And when I say "a few musings" I actually mean a gui of a rant (feel free to make this a plural).

Spoilers for up til Lost 1x19, Deus Ex Machina )

Spoilers for up til Alias 4x13, Tuesday )

And just because it's been a long time since I last said it:

Ultimate Drew rocks!

And so does David Fury. I should look into becoming a *insert the David equivalent of Drew's Minions*.

Another Charlie-centric vignette. What can I say, the boy sparks my muses. This one is a whole big huge spoiler for 1x11, be warned. And it really doesn't read as well as Signs if you haven't seen the show.

Miracled. )
fan_elune: (charlie claire friends)
Here's a short vignette with Charlie and Claire as the main characters (and a tiny bit of Sawyer). They don't belong to me, yaddi yaddi yadda. No real spoilers, it's located in early S1.

Signs. )

ETA: Terribly sorry I forgot to put it behind an lj-cut! I hate myself for that. (Well, not, but I feel bad about it.)

I realised I still hadn't shared my thoughts on Lost 1x15 and 1x16. )

That being said, as for RL... Things are still good, though not so much for far too many people around me. I wish I could ease their troubles somehow...

Tonight is one of the teachers' housewarming party, that should be good. I might go to Manchester on Saturday, not sure yet. And in one week and one day, I'm in Paris (and Les Miroirs Obscurs has been released)! It's a measure of how much I love [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh that I'm still happy and excited about going back, because the sense of impending doom in the form of having soon to leave England and my assistant's life behind has not diminished any. But I can't wait to be with her again.

I'm very slowly writing the Sarkney fic. I'm putting the final touches to the new versions of Rien N'est Eternel and Nothing Lasts Forever, which I'll update over break. I'm also nearing the end of Vice Versa, one of my most challenging and thought-provoking readings ever, I believe. I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in (bi)sexuality.

Now have a nice weekend, everyone! I'll be reading you in a matter of days.

I can only rage and scream that I'm missing the end of Lost 1x12, and thus what exactly is up with you-know-who. The Boone and Shane episode was quite good, especially about Locke, I just wish Lost were a bit more daring (those who know me well enough - and are watching the show - will know what I mean). The Walt and Mike episode was all right, nothing special. Now I need to watch more! Checking the titles of the episodes on TV tome made me realise that the upcoming Drew episode is Sawyer-centric. Oh yeah, baby...

The Alias premiere seems to say that this year will be better than last year, but that's not too hard. I do have the Drew ep in my possession and I need to get up to it quickly! I can't wait. Also? I love Weiss. And they'll need a lot to convince me of a certain something.

Anyhoot. According to sis herself, she's pretty happy here. The girl she is shadowing is really nice and stuff, so that's good. Friday night at Vanilla was excellent, too bad it was Madeleine's last night. I particularly enjoyed the stickers. Comprenne qui pourra. Oh, and very nice waitress (quite cute) speaking incredibly good French. And also, very nice dancing. Then we went back to Fred's and crashed. Then the Afflecks Palace (alternative shopping mall) where I did not spend a lot of money at all!! Only a little bit. And after much traffic and confusion on small roads we should not have taken, we got to Warrington, bought Ben & Jerry's (and Haagen Dasz) and went back home to EAT. And have sis discover the joys of "Whatever" (the Angel video - hilarious).

Sis and I watched 54 - disappointing Neve but Ryan was cute enough. Nothing spectacular, really. Kudos to Mike Meyers for pulling off that role, though. Also, I'm initiating sis to Lost. I think she likes it. Plus, she likes Charlie. She's a woman of good taste (almost - she didn't adore the Princess Bride and kept making desultory comments - hmpf!).

On that note, I'll be off to meet up with her.

Not only are the IT guys being a real pain by upgrading those filters with ridiculous notions (why oh why should IMDb be banned?) and trying to make sure we cannot check our e-mail, but they're also unable to do their bloody jobs! Yesterday Internet was down right when I was about to buy my plane tickets for Easter, and now it's down all over again. Me hates them. (Obviously now it's back up, or I couldn't send this, but my point still stands.)

'Sides, first lesson this morning was with a pupil I really don't enjoy teaching. Her level of French is quite good, really – when I marked them on some oral work, she got the best grade. But oh how I do not like her. She has no motivation whatsoever. She is the typical blasé teenager who does not see the point but shows up anyway to each lesson because she is "a good student." She is just so unpleasant to teach. So I think I'm in cranky mode all right.

Lost - because I am so off any sort of normal rhythm. I'm still on holiday rhythm and even though I'm tired as hell and have to get at 7 each morning, I still can't go to bed early. Or what passes as early for me. Also, I'm being so lazy food-wise, it's quite sad. (Yes, I even bought noodles. I think I've touched bottom.)

Lost - because I miss [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh terribly. It's amazing how quickly you get used to the good things. I miss having her in bed with me at night. I miss having her by my side during the day. I'm going through withdrawal, and it ain't pretty. So to fight it off I keep watching stuff and playing around with Photoshop.

And last but not least, Lost - as in, the TV show. Spoilers ahoy! Up to episode 8. )
fan_elune: (anyone interesting)
So, ranting aplenty today...

Lost pilot - spoilers ahead. )

Spoilers for tonight's episodes of ER here in France (season 10). )

My so-called life. )

And I need other people to come with me to Serenity, the Firefly con in London the last weekend of April. Given that I can go, which is not yet sure. Any volunteers? Go on the starfury site to check it out.

Anxiety is starting to build up. I'm leaving on Tuesday! Eeep! That's the day after tomorrow! Eeep again!
