[livejournal.com profile] emma_daisy needs her flist to update, and who am I to deny her anything. (You can even have my first born.)

So, let's see... Little Miss Sunshine! You guys need to go and see Little Miss Sunshine if you haven't already. It's a mass of emotions and it's got brilliantly quirky characters and I love every part of it. I want to hug Uncle Frank for several hours. He needs it. I also adore Dwayne, and it's so good to finally see Alan Arkin in a role that's not background-y. He deserves good parts, damnit! Because of Steve Carrel we're now watching The Forty Year Old Virgin and, two things: 1) this movie is geek-phobic he's planning on selling Aquaman you guys. 2) Mike is too cute. Whatever his name is in that movie. Phoebe's-Mike-from-Friends is who I mean.

Also, while I'm here, LJ's being a bitch with comment notifications (why oh why did I not see that coming when they brought up this whole tracking thing) so if I don't answer a comment you left me? So sorry. And very much not my fault.

THANK YOU. That thing gives me LJ herpes every time I look at it.

I loved Little Miss Sunshine beyond words. Every single moment was note perfect.

You're welcome, honey. I live to serve. And perhaps, some day, to see those two finally get it on christ what do they need. Ahem.

It was. It was amazing. I didn't know what to expect at all when I went in - apart from Alan Arkin - and, god. I loved it so hard. When the credits rolled I teared up a little. Not because it was sad, but because it had been so perfectly emotional and there's so much that was left unsaid and and and, and goddamnit I didn't want it to end. ...okay perhaps that was just me being hormonal, but still.

I will in no way take advantage of that. I swearz. oh dear GOD they are driving me CRAZY. I'm starting to think we're going to have to strip them naked and lock them in a room together for it to happen

I love the fact that everything was such a mess at the end but it was still OK. They were messed up and they probably went back to hating each other five minutes after the credits rolled but it was OK if they did. That kind of made my awesome.

I expect nothing less from me. I know right if this doesn't work I'm just going to give up and let him be straight because SERIOUSLY, DUDE. Drunk + sugar high + porn? What more do they need!

So very messed up. But even in all their fucked-upness they worked as a family unit. They functioned. In a completely fucked up manner but they did. And seriously, how cool was Frank.

I refuse to live in a world where Jared is straight

Steve Carrell freaking blew. me. away. I had no idea he had that kind of subtle, painful performance inside him. Gotta say, little bit in love with him now.

And, er, the Jennifer Aniston/Friends geek inside me wants to tell you that Mike is played by Paul Rudd, long time friend of Ms A's. Ahem.

Well then please get Jensen off his ass and onto Jared's dick? Or, y'know, whatever, just. Something. Because my pup is not moving and I am going to start hitting him soon I'm so frustrated with him.

God, I'd never seen him in anything, and seeing The Forty Year Old Virgin now? Well, yeah, kind of a let down after the brilliance that was his performance in LMS. I mean, seriously.

Heeeee! Joey just went the same "awww" as me when I told her. I had no clue - is that how he got the part on Friends? Or did the friendship stem from there?

I've TRIED but Jensen keeps wanting to be a good guy and look after his sad little buddy. Damn him.

Probably best if you don't watch Anchorman, in that case, where he has such memorable lines as "I love lamp". Although I love Anchorman crazymad.

I expect so, it's how they got most of their guest stars. Jen and Paul did a film together several few years ago and they've been friends since.

Damn both those boys. I refuse to let them let nothing happen!

...hey, "I love lamp" doesn't sound that bad. You know, depending on... context and... delivery and... I don't know. Anyway!

...much as I love them both, that movie looks like crap. Is it actually any good?

It is GOING to happen

Heh, yeah, I know. But it's actually pretty funny. Plus, Paul Rudd is in it, and Vince and Wil Ferrell. It's like my holy trinity.

First time I saw it I wasn't too impressed, but I watched it again recently and, well, it might be because I'm in love with Jennifer Aniston, but I thought it was pretty good. She gives a good performance, it's very much not your usual rom com fodder - the guy is gay for a start- and they have great chemistry together.

But, like I say, I love Jen, so kinda biased and blind here.

It had BETTER or I swear I will go INSANE from it. ...MORE insane is what I mean.

Heee! Alright, we'll try and get our hands on it.

Paul plays a gay guy? Okay, now I wanna see that too. Plus, you kinda made us fall in love with Jen too, so. Yeah. No reason not to, really.

Ehm, Jane St Clair's collection of five things responces included a Midnighter answer. Though, I wouldn't read it if you feel adverse to brain breakage. It's credible, but ouch.

Oh, Jane writes very good Midnighter, if you haven't encountered her fic yet.

I'm not sure there's anything much else in the way of interesting.

...ouch is how I like it. That was brilliant. Just five sentence, and. Brilliant. I'll definitely have to look through her other Authority stuff. Thanks for the rec!

Little Miss Sunshine was too good for words. And Steve Carrel was amazing in it. If you haven't seen Anchorman yet you should. Both he and Paul Rudd (Mike from Friends) are in it.

Yes, Emma's just convinced me! And I shall, whenever we manage to get our hands on it. Little Miss Sunshine was simply magnificent.
