Midnighter : Armaggedon, yet another story that manages to turn one of the most beautiful men in comic books into something seriously not that shiny, even in the present. I mean Apollo, of course. Come on, you guys, make an effort. I shall forever cling to Human on the Inside as far as looks go. They were all. so. pretty. Too pretty to die.

BUT! Midnighter/Apollo smooches. (Yes, he hates me for using that term.) YAY! Midnighter is his usual ever so optimistic self, and it's a Midnighter story in which Apollo is not a complete doormat. *THROWS CONFETTI AROUND!* That makes me forgive the art.

Is he? I thought he looked awful. Apollo is not supposed to look like that! *whimpers* But yay for Jenny indeed! I don't think she was ever gone from the Midnighter stories, anyway, since she was featured in Ennis' first emo monologue of woe. You know, "I'm not a lover. I'm not a father. I'm not a friend," BOOHOO.

I don't know why I'm trying to make sense of comic book storylines. JENNY LIVES, ALL THE TIME, AND THAT'S THAT.

No Rose Tattoo. It's ok, I got used to the fact that I'm one of 3 people that remember she exists *siiiiiiiignhs*
As for Apollo, it seems to me that the reason that they fuglify him so much, is that too beautiful to draw (they do it to The Doctor as well all the time. He's ~18 and boyishly handsome not 40). That's my theory, I'm sticking to it. I've also noticed, that no matter the artist, Mindy always looks well.

Human on the Inside is totally my canon of art for Authority. Soooo purty.

I really liked Captain Atom: Armageddon, so I have high hopes for this story. And I can live with art that makes them all fugly because it seems that's the only idea anyone has about how to draw the Authority these days.

And nobody puts Swift in a corner! Hee-yah!
