Just back from clubbing, yay! Been too long since I'd danced like that. Pretty good club, though it was listed as gay and ultimately really isn't... just gay-friendly, I suppose, but there were many many many straight couples. Not that I mind, it just gets confusing. Good thing neither [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh nor I were on the prawl! You wouldn't know who to hit on.

That being said, you guys, I can't wait for August to dance with you all! Especially to Hold that sucker down - while the songs were quite good for a club (there was even a retro moment with Grease, Pulp Fiction, Claude François, the Village People and Aretha Franklin, among others), there was a distinct lack of Hold that sucker down. Me, obsessed with that song? Nah. I never get obsessed.

That's something I missed this year (compared to last), a good, long, sweaty clubbing night.
Standing right next to the speaker wall, moving only because of the vibrations :)
Techno music playing loudly, empty heads and bodies moving along with the rhythm.
I want HTSD and some more "mild techno" goodness. Do you have some ? I only got tapes, not really easy to use for a party.

Oh and if you're really confused about who you two can hit on... I'm volunteering !
Don't mention it. What are friends for ? *g*

Tapes are feasible at my place. That does remind me, however, that we need to warn the neighbors we're partyin' again this year.......
And yeah, I wish we could all go clubbing. It was sweet. Despite the lack of Scooter (no comment Fan'!)!! As for who to hit on, thanks Fred, somehow I'm not surprised you're volunteering :-p.

I knew we could count on you! ;)
And sorry, the only techno I have is from QaF and I actually wonder whether I kept *any* techno besides HTSD... Hmm.

I take it you went to L'Espace, uh ?
Given the fact that is was thursday night, it's normal there wasn't so much gays, I guess there was all the Rennes 2 students partying after their exams results...
But yeah, their music is really good (except for the lack of Hold That Sucker Down, you're so right !).

Yeah, that's what we thought - but hell, it's free on Thursday nights! So, yes, we felt rather lonely. Well, not, but... er. Yes. Anyway. The music was good. Wanna come with if we go back?

I dunno if it's the same in Rennes than in Paris, nor even if it's still the case in Paris, but I do know that at a certain period there was a bunch of straight people who preferred going to gay bars (I suppose because the music was better, and the rest too. And the girls were less likely to be harrassed by boys).
I learnt that from a radio talk hostess (who used to hang out at the Queen) that I shouldn't have been listening to (the talk show, not the woman... Er.... well, the woman too I guess O:-) )at that age. Or, well, it would have made cringe a bunch of parents to know about that. :::eg::: However, I sometimes thing that my interest in gay stuff come from that period and talk show.
There was some awesome radio moments in those years.

I obviously meant gay clubs, not bars.

Yeah, the gay scene is very hip. It's a thing. Oh well.

Sure ! Except on a Saturday night, this is the very day the club is filled almost only with gays, no thank you, I'll pass on that one. Yod' = Straight.

I can see at least one reason to go to gay clubs.
According to my personal experience, the gay girls are quite hot. *eg*

Or I can find gay clubs in Bristol...

Oh don't worry, we like to not have to pay, so it'll most likely be next Thursday!

Ha, we'll go clubbing next year, you and me. Right? 'Cause I don't think we'll go clubbing for the few days we'll all be together, somehow...

*I* might have some techno. Maybe. Will have to check.

Well, at least I know for sure I do have a Daft Punk CD (is that techno? Yes, I guess it is). And maybe an Air one (the one with "Sexy Boy") since for a long time I considered buying it, but I'm not sure of that.

I'm not that sure I have anything else, though. I used to count on the radio for providing good stuff.

From: [identity profile] heikki-cheren.livejournal.com
Ok, don't have Air actually (and anyway, I kind of don't think it really qualify as techno. It's in the "electro" FNAC section, along with the techno stuff, but... Well, it's been too long since I didn't listen to the radio or any music for that matter. I'm kind of all mixed up in all the genres, and anyway some stuff are hard to classify.

Anyway, the thing is, my sister has two Moby CD, and she'll still be in Guadeloupe by then. Is that classified as techno? Well, it was back when I listened to it, in 1997. Haven't heard what he did lately. Well, I probably did, but didn't listen. Or remember. Or both. ::g::

So, 1 Daft Punk and 2 Moby.
And maybe a few stuff on my Max's "Ballade Nocturne" compilations, but I'm not sure any of it was techno-related. I just remember about the important stuff. (That is, that there was a Joe Isaishi (sp?) and a Dead Can Dance thing, along with a few other excellent stuff.)

No definitely not, we won't have enough time and even if we had, I'd rather we spend the evening together on our own (well with some booze of course).

And yeah we'll go clubbing next year. I'm gonna live half a mile away from the main club in Hudds.
Just you and me tiger... and merely 16 000 students pissed as fart (most of them anyway ;)

All the CD are welcome. We'll check the suitable tracks for the evening.
And on a more personal note, I think I will burn some of your stuff *g*
So yeah bring them over ;)
