"I never said I was deep."

People who have worked on this 'movie' that I want to have words with:
- the wardrobe people. If you're going to put Methos in a leather biking jacket, lose the arm fringes. What is up with that furry coat you gave Duncan? How should I explain that the sort of style that worked for Blade Runner will not work for you?
- the set designers. You do not have what it takes to pull off a post-apocalypctic world. Trust me. Again with the Blade Runner remark.
- the writers. The one writer, maybe? Unless he's ten years old, in which case he's done a pretty good job.
- the director. Stop trying to be artsy, man. This is a shitty flick, and even if it weren't it would be a Highlander flick. Don't go artsy on Highlander.

Things they've ruined:
- Joe.
- Methos.
- Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever and Princes of the Universe.
- Mac.
- The hour and twenty minutes I've just spent watching it.

Things worth watching it for:
- Spending an hour and twenty minutes criticising every other second of a movie, if you're in the mood for it.
- Duncan: "You're such an asshole." Methos: "I never said I was deep."
- Methos is looking very good. I have no beef with the make-up artists on this one. When in his leather jacket, when facing the camera? You can't even see the awful arm fringes from hell and he just looks plain hot. (See icon.)
- The beautiful, tear-jerking, absolutely unpredictable conclusion. Just kidding, obviously, as it is as corny as Kansas in August and so obvious you've guessed at it ten minutes into the movie. The best part is that right before said conclusion, they show us again every. single. clue (if you can call clue such obvious hints) to the resolution, in the whole of the movie. Just in case you missed them.

Now I kinda want to watch the Modern Prometheus again. To remind myself why I like Highlander. Erk.

I've enjoyed a few episodes of the TV series, mostly because it didn't treat me like an idiot, but the best thing I've ever heard about any of the sequel movies is "not abysmal".

The only movies worth watching are the first one and, possibly, the third one, if you just want some good old swordfighting and nothing else much. The series had its good moments; it also had some terrible ones, mind, but it's my first fandom! It's how I started out on the net. :D

He really, truly is. It's fine, however! HL 4 and 5 are both so bad that retconning them is not even something you think about; you watch them, and they're simply not part of the Highlanderverse. Methos remains intact. :D
