May. 25th, 2004 11:34 pmBeen a naughty Fan' again. Last night reason would have had me learn my lines for Streetcar, but there was this book on my shelf that was beaconing to me. See, this weekend
heikki_cheren and I watched the S5 Highlander episode The Modern Prometheus again. The one with Byron - yes, the one and only. It got me thinking about how Damien knew him - well, through Methos, yes, duh, but other than that? And so I looked up some stuff on Byron to start with.
And to go back to last night, there was this book of Byron's poetry on my shelves. And it had a magnetic attraction on me! I took it up and leafed through it and found some very interesting passages in his "mystery" Heaven and Earth that sparked ideas of dialogue between Byron and Dam, and which actually put their relationship in a whole new light. And then, I actually wrote it. The whole fic. Last night. From 12 to 6 - well, I didn't strictly speaking spend six hours on it, no. That includes the leafing through the book and the getting to bed process. My head hit the pillow at 6. I have been so very sleepy all day.
Anyway. Do not yet know how much of it is crap, or how many typos I must have done by the end, 'cause I was uber-exhausted but didn't wanna let that muse go for fear she wouldn't come back later. Point being, half of it might be way too bad to ever be readable. But I do intend on salvaging what is readable, because I am so very fascinated by Byron, and I do very much like this plot bunny. Or relationship bunny, 'cause you can hardly say there's a plot.
So, while it's Damien talking, first person narrator, it's very much about Byron. Or about art. Both, really. Anyway. Should go get some sleep now before I drop on my keyboard. (Oh, and also, it's in English. My first Dam fic in English, if you don't count his lj.)
