A lot of people criticised season 2. I actually enjoyed it. Mostly due to the villains, yes. Alright, almost entirely due to the villains. (Is HRG a villain? Is Angela?)
But this season? I'm almost entirely losing interest. They simply do not know what they're doing and they seem to have forgotten how to write well. Honestly. Nathan and Adam are particularly striking to me.
Nathan because of Adrian Pasdar; that man can act. In this past episode particularly, I was struck by how good he was, how much he was getting the most out of the terrible, terrible writing. But he might be good, guy can't work miracles. It was tragic. And oh please god can we not have him have any more opening speeches kthx. Let's just forget about opening speeches altogether, shall we?
Adam because - well, it's Adam Monroe, for frak's sake. They create a character like Adam Monroe, and then... what? They don't know what to do with him. Which is insane when you look at the potential. This last episode had him turn into little but a comedy character, although I did very much appreciate the ease with which he set Hiro up for that punch. Now that is the Adam we know and love, so manipulative, doesn't need to do anything himself.
I have no clue what the frak they think they're doing with Sylar or Mohinder either. Although I do very much enjoy the Iago-ness of Sylar, just as I did in S2, the whole redemption arc is just... whatever. As for Mohinder, unless he kills Maya I have no interest. He doesn't do evil well. There is no point in turning him evil. The whole thing makes no sense.
Angela still rocks, even though she is very badly written. I want Elle back. Fake!Linderman bores me to tears. HRG still kicks ass and is totally Midnighter, I insist. Claire might be interesting if Sylar manages to manipulate her. Mostly Elle needs to come back and meet Adam. Who cares about Arthur Petrelli? Maybe Peter and he can off each other.
Also can Knox please kill Hiro kthx. (I don't know what happened with Ando but he is somehow not dead. Because.)
All in all, I'm losing interest very fast and spoilers I've heard about are not reassuring in the slightest. I used to love this show! Damnit.
I still adore True Blood, though. Even without Eric, although apparently he's in every single upcoming episode and that makes me squee. But man. I love Lafayette, and Jason is such a moron, and Sookie is wonderful. Bill was adorable as he watched her sleep (or rather Stephen Moyer was), Sam is still a chibi and I love everything that wasn't actually said in his discussion with Bill (as someone who hasn't read the books, I say it's all very cleverly done), I miss Adele, the pie-eating was amazing, is it time for more Eric now? I love this show.
I didn't watch the pre-air pilot of Life on Mars US, only the one that aired, after recasting. I was quite pleasantly surprised. Gene is nothing like Gene which is a very good thing; I think I only enjoyed it because Gene and Sam are different enough. And also the city, as I love both New York and Manchester but they're pretty damn different. That shot of the Twin Towers was awesome. Without letting go of the British version? I would probably have hated it. Now I'm very worried about the fact that the show might work, in which case... will they know to wrap it up when it should be wrapped up? I dread its becoming like Lost, something that should've ended seasons ago.
I still want to slash Dexter and Miguel Prado. What the hell is wrong with me?
Far too much good in Sons of Anarchy to mention it all. Although a special mention goes to Gemma, especially after the last episode. But seriously, everyone. Charlie Hunnam keeps blowing my socks off. And yeah. Just, yeah. Everything, everyone. I become more of a fan of Ron Perlman with each passing episode. Which is saying a lot.

We need more random crossovers of like, Adam and Josef and Eric. Just sayin'.

Date: 2008-10-15 05:52 pm (UTC)Eric is just FTW, and so snarky and world-wise, and willful.
:) I have been considering AUs, because god knows we will be going with that, in light of REALLY BAD WRITING, and yes, those three DID occur to me. :)
Perhaps, if the writers realize what a loss they have perpetuated, they will fix it.
Until then, we have AUs

Date: 2008-10-16 10:30 am (UTC)AUs are going to have to happen. I need to know Eric more before I can write any of that, though. It's all making my muses itch but I haven't read the books so my knowledge of him is very, very limited. And if I write him, I wanna do him justice.
Which really means I should be writing Josef/Adam in the meantime.

Date: 2008-10-16 12:29 pm (UTC)YES. I read and it blew me away. It was so good. SO GOOD. I'm still not over how Josef-like her "Your situation smells delicious" was. And the way she brought the two universes together, and just. Everything. It was just. Perfect. Her line about the blood on the glass and the cathedral. Dude. Perfect.

Date: 2008-10-16 04:07 pm (UTC)We could do either, same word, or different, or something conceptual.
I KNOW, and it MADE SENSE so very much, seamless weaving together of the 'verses.

Okay, yes, we need a prompt. ...something conceptual how what huh? Tell me more. :D

Date: 2008-10-23 12:46 pm (UTC)Ahem.
Alright, each of us picks a quote that has the word "sour" in it and roll with it. Deal?

"Sure."
*several beers later*
"Remember how I killed the guy who killed your brother?"
"Yeah, that was really hot."
"You still owe me for that."
"Oh, totally."
*slash ensues*
I didn't hate this episode of Heroes as much as I've hated the last few honestly. Though I do hate Claire. So much. Could she whine some more or just look pouty some more? And the whole Mohinder thing is very stupid. Also I like Sylar a little more recently but honestly I wish he would just /die/. He was awesome first season and after that...no. Failboat!Sylar.
Angela Petrelli is lolworthy. And I miss Elle too. I hated her at first and then I really really liked her. Now there is a character with so much messed up potential. She needs pairing love like bad. Ficficfic.
Now I have typed a novel. I will stop now.

Date: 2008-10-16 11:05 am (UTC)I don't really care about Claire one way or the other. There's potential there, for both awesome character stuff and very annoying character stuff. And I rather liked Sylar in S2! If only because he is still frakking insane and dangerous and smart without his powers. Just look at what happened to Maya's twin. PLUS. He shot Maya and went, "look what you made me do" and it was awesome. Until he brought her back to life because that just sucked. But the whole redemption thing sucks! I don't want him redeemed. I want him damn dangerous!
Elle shall be back! She and Adam need to meet up and um. Have fun. In a "fry me and I'll heal" way. She does so like to have fun like that. *loves her up and down*
I like your novels.
