I wanted to post something constructive and what-not, but in the end all I can say is OHMYGOD the actors are as good as they were well cast (special props to Nikolaj and Harry) and they all act in such subtle ways and this is going to be fantastic.

So yeah, not so much with the constructive, more with the flailing.

I need a GoT icon.

Someone on my flist (who used to play in CWTF but I can't remember who) said that watching it was awesome, except that any time she saw Mark Addy all she could think of was Roland from AKT.

I was afraid of that, but it didn't do it at all for me. He's older, has different hair and facial hair, is fatter, and just... is Robert Baratheon instead of Roland, you know? He's too good an actor for it to have stuck with me. WHEEEE MARK!

How did you watch it? Streaming or download?
Do you have a way to share it sometimes in May?

And how would it work for someone who didn't read the books?

Checked! Really like it :)

Although that's not how I figured Ned Stark (leaner), Jon Snow (more different from his brother) and the Imp.

A few quips, like I think the "sex" scene with Daenerys and the Dothraki was cut, so the fact that he says "no" to her doesn't make real sense.

But overall, a good job of translating the beginning of the story onto the screen.

I could help you for your first questions, email me if needed: grimmamoute @ yahoo dot fr

I think it may be a bit confusing for someone who didn't read the books, just as it was confusing starting the books :)

Sean Bean is perfect for Ned imho, Jon Snow I do not mind. But then again he and his brother were never my favourite characters, so. Aaand I actually dream-cast Peter Dinklage as Tyrion myself, so I love that casting choice. I know, he should be more difformed, except there aren't that many good dwarf actors, and he's among the best. The only other I had in mind is too old for the part, even if physically he would've fit better, so Peter Dinklage all the way! And he plays Tyrion so well.

Yeah, the sex scene was disappointing. I wonder whether they had a longer version of it, because man, I love it.

But I'm still sooooo happy with it all, seriously. HEEEEE. And Nikolaj's delivery on "the things I do for love" was so SPOT-ON DUDE I LOVE HIM.

Sorry, I stream! Streaming is my friend. And I will jump on the DVDs as soon as they're released, but I will stream in the meantime.

And exactly what Grimma said. It's as confusing as the books are, as complicated fantasy can be. So it's just fine, really. ;)
