"Love bores you." "No. It disappoints me."

That quote here is from the movie Closer, which I suggest you all go and download the trailer. Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts and Clive Owen. I cannot wait.
On another note, plotting Ordinary People away with my fellow authors is a true pleasure. I like the element of the unexpected in the way our characters react to each other - you have to find a way around the unexpected to what you actually wanted to express, it's challenging.
Now, here's a big long meme about BtVS and AtS, gakked from
houses7177.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel?
BtVS. I remember, during Angel's S2, thinking that it was shaping up to be much better than BtVS. Then it all got downhill from there, imo. On the whole, I have to say Buffy, definitely. (Wish I could choose Firefly, though.) The noir element of AtS was more to my liking, but it didn't live up to my expectations.
Angel or Spike?
Spike. Despite the way they ultimately ruined him, I have to go with Spike. Even when ruined, he was potentially more interesting than Angel. I hate what Angel became.
Buffy or Faith?
A couple years ago, my answer would have been "Faith!!!" Now it's "Faith."
Darla or Drusilla?
Ah... tough one. I'd have to go with Darla, for her arc in AtS, as far as depth of character go. However, as far as writing them goes, Dru is so much fun. I adore writing crazy characters, especially when they see more than average. (River!)
Willow or Xander?
A couple years ago, would have cried out "Willow!!!" Now, I'll say you can't have the one without the other. (And yes, that's a crappy way to avoid choosing.)
Anya or Tara?
I don't love them the same way. Both their deaths touched me just as much. Probably Anya more, as in she's more interesting. Tara is more... she's Tara, there's nothing else to add.
Fred or Willow?
Willow. I like Fred all right, but not always what they do with her. (Why can't I choose Illyria?)
Gunn or Wes?
Wes... Gunn could have been so much more interesting than what they did. Actually, by the end I think it was Gunn. AtS managed a rare feat, to get me to stop caring about characters I had always loved. Like Wes and Spike. It's only through fanfiction that I can enjoy them again.
Watcher Giles or Watcher Wes?
Watcher Giles. (Sorry, Wes.)
Connor or Dawn?
Connor.
Oz or Tara?
Tough one, again. Truly couldn't choose. Maybe Oz. But then, Tara...
Anya or Cordelia?
Overall, Anya. Much loved Cordy, especially in early Angel (before they got me to not care about her), but... Anya.
Andrew or Jonathan?
Andrew. (Sorry, Jono.)
Kennedy or Tara?
Tara. Kennedy = blah. They really made a mess of her character.
Giles or Joyce?
Giles. He's Giles.
Drusilla or Harmony?
Goods gods, Drusilla. Another feat of AtS: they did get me to enjoy Harmony in S5. But still. Dru all the way.
Cecily or Harmony?
Harmony, because of AtS's S5.
Cecily or Hally (Halfrek)?
Hally! I loved her.
Lilah or Lindsey?
Used to be Lindsey. Then they brought him back in S5 and got me to not care about him - way to go, people, 'cause I did love my Lindsey something fierce. Truth be told, that wasn't my Lindsey they brought back. Dunno whose it was, but not the one I'd grown to love. So, in the end: Lilah.
Clem or Lorne?
Lorne. I heart Lorne. He was one of the few (very, very few) characters to break my heart in S5.
Killer Faith or Redemption-y Faith?
You can't dissociate her. The character I love is both.
Ripper Giles or Rupert Giles?
Even more impossible to dissociate them.
Angel or Angelus?
In Buffy, Angelus. In AtS... Angel, at first, because he was so interesting. Then eventually: a pile of dust. I would have preferred Dust!Angel.
Fred or Illyria?
Illyria. Oh yes.
Buffy or Darla?
Darla.
Sunnydale or L.A.?
L.A.
Willow and Oz, Willow and Tara, or Willow and Kennedy?
Willow/Tara in Seeing Red. Yes, very specific. Comes a very close second, Willow/Oz in Graduation. There are just moments like those...
Buffy and Angel, Buffy and Parker, Buffy and Riley, or Buffy and Spike?
Who do I think she could be happy with, truly? Riley. Who do I think was the most interesting to see her with? Spike. Who do I think had the deepest impression on her? Angel.
Xander and Cordelia or Xander and Anya?
Xander/Anya.
Fred and Gunn, Fred and Knox, or Fred and Wes?
Fred and Gunn, in the good old days.
Angel(us) and Darla, Angel(us) and Drusilla, Angel(us) and Spike, Angel(us) and Buffy, Angel and Kate, Angel(us) and Cordelia, or Angel and Nina?
Where are Angel and Lindsey? *ws* I'd have to say Angel(us) and Darla. That was the most interesting and the most promising. Well written Angel(us)/Spike can be really good, too.
Wes and Cordelia, Wes and Lilah, Wes and Fred, or Wes and Illyria?
Wes and Lilah, or Wes and Illyria (when very well written). Very interesting dynamics.
William the Bloody and Cecily, Spike and Drusilla, Spike and Harmony, Spike and Buffy, or Spike and Anya?
Spike and Anya. No, I don't think they belong together, and I don't mean that in a shipper sense. They just work really well together as "those two outsiders".
Faith and Xander or Faith and Wood?
Faith and Wood! Robin was exactly what she needed.
Cordelia and Xander, Cordelia and Wes, Cordelia and Groosalug, Cordelia and Angel, or Cordelia and Connor?
Cordy and Groo. Though really, the Cordy we had by the end of S3? She did not deserve him.
Who is your favorite character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
I canNOT choose.
Who is your least favorite character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
Hmm. Probably Adam. I never could enjoy him. But then, I haven't seen S4 in ages, my views might have changed.
Who is your favorite villain on Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
Glory. Or ooooh, Caleb. Freaky. Go, Nathan, go! (Notice how I can always bring things back to Firefly?)
Who is your least favorite villain on Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
The Master. I might not like Adam, but he was more interesting than the Master.
Who is your favorite character on Angel?
Kept changing, due to their ruining every character I loved. Now I think I just don't have one.
Oh, yes. Marcus Hamilton. (Firefly powaaaa!) Followed closely by Illyria and Drogyn.
Oh, no, no, no. Connor. They never messed up Connor.
Who is your least favorite character on Angel?
The dork Angel became.
Who is your favorite villain on Angel?
Is Marcus a villain? Is Illyria?
Who is your least favorite villain on Angel?
The dork who had replaced Angelus in S4 - and ye gods, Evil!Cordy. That was pathetic. The combination of the two? Horrible.
Who is your favorite character of all?
Can't choose, sorry.
Who is your least favorite of all?
The dork Angel became. It was so very painful.
Who is your favorite villain of all?
Glory, I think. There was something so very human behind her motivations. And, again, I love nutcases.
Who is your least favorite of all?
The Master.
What is your favorite canon relationship?
Can't choose. It would probably be either Xander/Anya or Angel(us)/Darla.
And your favorite non-canon relationship?
To stay non-crossover... well-written Angel/Lindsey can be excellent. Angel/Spike, is that canon by now? Damn, they say "relationship" - I don't see those as relationships, per se.
Which death made you feel the most?
Doyle first and foremost. Joyce, not so much her death as the episode. Tara. Anya. Okay, probably Doyle, because he was the first and damnit, I loved you, you stupid Irishman.
Which death scene made you feel the least?
It's sad to say, but Wes's. That's how bad I reacted to S5.
Sum up what Buffy the Vampire Slayer means to you in one sentence.
My teenage years, my early adulthood - life hurts and there's no point beyond living it, but that's pointy enough.
Sum up what Angel means to you one sentence.
First two seasons : if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
After that: how to ruin it all for me, while keeping enough interesting elements to make me come back with hope each time.
When did you start watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
S1, I was 14. Or maybe 13... Anybody knows what year it first aired on Serieclub?
When did you start watching Angel?
I must have been... 17, I think. No, wait, 16, I saw my first eps when in Canada.
Which theme song do you like better?
Angel. Love the cellos.
When did you realize that you were a fan(atic)?
I think I really knew from S3 on.
Have you ever been embarrassed to be a fan? If so, when?
Back when I was still a stupid fan who liked it for all the wrong, stupid reasons.
