And can I start by pointing out how much of a rip-off Parisian night buses are?

Now, if y'all wanna know about how things have been going so far...

No train strike this time around (well, not one that affected my train anyway) so I actually got here on time on Friday and had some time to myself before Joey and Mickael arrived from school. Mickael is as sweet and cute in real life as on the phone, by the way. It took some getting used to at first, how young he is - not in a bad way at all, I'm just not used to hanging out with younger people anymore. It's actually very refreshing, he's such an Anya on some stuff. And I do love Anya.

Then we got to the MAG, where I met far too many people to remember either all names or faces. Apart, of course, from the guys Jo has been ranting about for months, those I would have had a hard time forgetting. It was fun, really, though I'm not as enthusiastic about some of said people as she is (and even when I am, I'm not gonna rant as much, I'll spare you guys).

Now for the Quick anecdote Joey promised you guys: we went and bought dinner there (yes, don't worry, I did mention that it was super expensive) and then went back to the MAG, where we realised we forgot the straws for the drinks. I was put out, but "oh well," but Joey was all like "I'll go get some" and super motivated. Cynthia and I tried telling her there was no point but she was gung-ho on the idea. She went to grab her coat, paused, turned back to us and realised: "Wait, you can take the lids off the glasses."

Yes, love. You can.

We went and had a drink with some of the guys afterwards, which was all manners of nice. And Mickael cannot hold his alcohol. Emphasis on "not". Yesterday was unvacationy if you ask me, because again I had to wake up early (well, you know, early for holiday time) but it was for a good cause. We went and had a picnic at Vincennes with Mickael, Pauline, Juju and the incredibly lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] anna_tarawiel and played Disney Trivial. I was actually in the lead when we stopped! More due to luck than my Disney knowledge, truth be told, because I have forgotten so much about the older films. We headed off to a "spider" (spider's web?), the kids' structure with red ropes, pyramid-like. I used to be able to get to the top without any trouble only just when I was in high school, but here I just couldn't! I had far too much vertigo. Weird.

Then we went to a couple of gay-oriented libraries, guided by the adorable Juju who absolutely knew where he was going all the time. Then we took our straight ally Anna to the MAG and had a great time. I was a bit put off by the reaction everybody had when Habib started asking questions about lesbian sex, because yes, he clearly had preconceptions and stuff, but his questions were the questions most people have and personally I thought it was great that he actually asked them, and I did my best to answer them. Nothing to be embarrassed about (granted, it did take me a couple seconds to get past my initial shock/surprise at the sudden first question, "so, do all lesbians use dildos?").

[livejournal.com profile] overcraft stopped by, which was nice but I'm kinda sad I didn't see more of her. Pesky mock exams that she has to study for. Then Mickael and we left to go meet up with Jess, who is a wonderful young woman indeed, really nice and all. We watched episodes 4 and 5 of the L-Word season 2, which meant wishing Jenny dead, lusting after Shane (on my part) and debating whether or not Bette and Tina should get back together. Also, I like Alice more and more and I do hope Dana isn't gonna marry Cruella Tanya. Also, despite his ultimate jerkitude, I really like Mark. Yes, I'm weird.

Then Julien arrived, Mickael's boyfriend. They're so cute together. And, as it turned out in the Tango (club where we went), he can dance rock!! I adore him if only for that. He just seems like a really nice guy, very attentive to you and plain nice. And he actually taught me new "passes" (how do you call those in English? moves?), and we danced rock on music that has nothing to do with rock (even rai!). Wicked. I also danced the Madison with Mickael, while some people chickened out of it. We met up with some other people from the MAG - I'd seen them all before but didn't actually remember them all. Oh well. It's weird I hadn't noticed Cedric before, because he really makes me think of Seth Gabel (Adrian in S2 of Nip/Tuck). Maybe it was the eye-liner. In any case, he was an awesome dancer and we had so much fun. We even went on stage, which I never do. He and his boyfriend are too cute. And I'm refraining from ranting about dancing with gay guys again.

It was weird to be in a French club, though. I hadn't gone out clubbing in France for so long, I kept wanting to talk English, especially at the bar. And I've gone very English as far as hours are concerned. It felt so weird to go clubbing late again! But I'm very reassured: I'll survive the transition from Manchester to Paris next year. Le Marais can be quite as much fun as Canal Street.

So today is lazy day, because we're too tired. Tomorrow some people are coming over to RPG, probably something medieval fantasy. I'm really hesitating between the different Naheulbeuk characters... What do you guys think? Witch, barbarian or thief? Those are the three contenders in my mind.

I'm so happy to be with [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh. Mickael was so cute, he told me something along the lines of "you know, she really cares about you" and he looked so serious and all. Thanks, Mickael. I know. And I love her too.

Madison powaaaa ! Yeaaaah ! The only dance (with the Macarena) that I can deal with. In fact I learnt it a few days ago, I was in Guadelupe then. So again yay for the Madison because of what (who ^^) it makes me think about. :D

Aw. Well for me the Madison will now be linked with Mickael, so less with the romance but muchly with the cute. What did you think of them all? Not feeling too oppressed by the overwhelming gayness I hope?

I actually learned that dance a while ago, as in years ago, but I'd quite forgotten it by now. So it was fun to start it, not having a clue what I was supposed to be doing. ;)

Oh no ! Of course not. Why would I ? They're all really nice people, maybe I was feeling a little more comfortable with Julien because we spent more time with him, but Mickael and Pauline are great too. The thing I love about this kind of meetings, is that we get to know people we wouldn't know usually. I'm talking about Mickael especially, I think he's not someone I would usually get along with. But I went through the day, and I'm ready to see him another time ;-)
Going to the Mag was nice too, because I read a lot about it in Joey's LJ, and as a matter of fact, I was on their site on Friday, and I was thinking that it seemed like a really nice place. So I'm happy we went there, and indeed, it is a nice place.

I know, the place rocks. (Apart from the bad colours, says Jo, and I can only agree. Though it didn't really strike me.) And they're awesome people to go clubbing with. ;) It's too bad you didn't see Timothée, though. He's great.

And yeah, I love meeting people like that, kind of random, see a bit of diversity. Wheee.
