This is going to be a complete AU from the movie anyway. I can't do otherwise. I *could* wait for the movie - just as I could have waited for PotC2 before launching myself into FoF - but I don't think my muses will leave me semi-sane this long. Trust me, you do *not* want a Jayne!muse to be mad at you. Or a River!muse for that matter. I'd rather not find out what happens when those two team up. *shudder*
As for the genetic engineering, yes, it would. But I was sorta hoping the guys could find a way to be immune too. Which would then be pretty impossible. It's not so much the blue gloves that I want a theory on that fits me, as the Blue Gloves as in the men in the blue gloves.
