I know some people are bound to look at me weird for what I'm about to say, but everyone who's given a true chance to that show will have to agree (hopefully): Doctor Who is a hell of a good show. I just watched Father's Day and it was, quite simply, brilliant. Yes, I love to witness tension in the ranks. I still can't say that I'm a big fan of Rose (she could have fooled me too), but... she's all right. And that script was simply amazing. Why don't we have children's shows like that in France? Or is it just that my lil bro only watches the crappy stuff? Things that talk about sacrifice, family, failure, loss, life and death and all the in-between, things that don't take friendship for granted, things with flawed, human heroes/sidekicks (and maybe a time lord, too), things that don't take children for two-brain-celled individuals...

I think back to what I watched when I was young. Sure, some of that stuff was amazing... and said amazing stuff? It's not on anymore. My little brother has never watched the Golden Cities. But sure, now he's hooked to Nicky Larson (something I couldn't bear to watch even at the time). Where has all the good stuff gone?...

Yep, I didn't think I would like the Dr that much. Btw, I'm taping it until I leave, interested ? :)

And, although the cities of gold was my favorite DA when I was a kid (still is actually), I... hum... like Nicky Larson :)

I think I'll download it, but thanks. :) I've got The Doctor Dances to watch as soon as I have time. I can't wait!!

Nobody's perfect, babe. I still love you. ;)

No, really, to each their own... and Nicky Larson isn't for me. At. All. Ever. Not in a million years. Blah.

I dunno if it's the anime itself or just the version which aired in France, but it's highly censored. The manga version of City Hunter seems a lot more aimed at adults. Or rather, not suitable for children under 12 (or more). O:-P

Now, *that* was less surprising than the Battle Royale manga. I glanced through one volume, and it was a lot more about sex than gory murders. And there was at least as much slaughtering than in the film, which says a lot about the other part. ^^

I'm hoping lots of people have pleasently surprised by Dr. Who. Everytime I hear about it winning the ratings and being successful I do a little dance of fangirl joy.

Let me join you in the dance, then. :) I hope David Tennant will do good next year... Who am I kidding? I'm positive he will. Did you see him in Casanova?

I've only seen one Casanova episode. Quite amusing, though I couldn't imagine him being Dr. Who from that. When I've seen him in other pictures I'm more convinced though.

I hope he sticks around for a bit though! He only has 2 more regenerations after David Tennant.

I only ever saw him in Casanova, but I watched all four episodes and I grew quite fond of him. I can definitely see him pull the Doctor off, when I think about it.

And yes! I know! I'd be so sad if they just stopped the series so very soon. Well, at least I've got all the older stuff to watch still. That's bound to be something. :)
