A really interesting meme on Original Characters, gakked from
heikki_cheren.
The very first one:
I'm not sure, it's either my female Twin character (though she was in a very, very Mary-Sueish form back then) or that horrid Mary-Sue of a potential Slayer with witchy abilities that I thankfully never wrote about.
The first one I wrote:
My female Twin character. And how horrible those first attempts were.
Fanfiction-wise, it was in the Highlander fandom, a witch Immortal who was very much not a good girl. She had a very sick and twisted sort of love thing going on for a certain scarred Horseman. If I had had a better grasp on psychology and characterisation back then, she could have actually been a really interesting character. She has potential.
The first one I drew:
(Drew! He rocks! Ahem. Sorry.)
Me drawing then? That's a funny notion.
My favourite:
Tough one. Damien (Highlanderverse) holds a special place in my heart, maybe 'cause he evolved from a two-dimensional hottie with little morality to a very round character, complete with deep-rooted neuroses, very endearing flaws, and much more of a conscience than he would like. The fact that I wouldn't have written "Thou liv'est forever" if it weren't for him probably plays a part, too. But I couldn't say he's my favourite. The thing is, I love all my OCs. I can't write OCs well without loving them, just as I can't write somebody else's characters well if I don't love them.
I think that if I absolutely had to choose, the choice would be between Damien, Claire (Pirateverse), and Fab (original fiction).
The most pleasant to write:
I think those three up there would again be my top three to write for. I just know them inside out, the way they think, the way they work, their virtues and their flaws, and I love them for them all. Claire is such a strong character, while Damien is so weak in the end, and Fab is just... He's this guy who got hurt, a lot, and who's now fiercely loyal to his friends and is ready to say "fuck you" to the rest of the world.
The most perfect:
Probably Múlnared, one of my Elvish OCs in Out of Memory and Time (and no, I still haven't given up on that). He can be manipulative as hell and rather vindictive, but he's a good fighter, impressively handsome and flirtacious, and he is more than able to follow through on his whispered promises.
The most stupid:
Luke. From Gaia. We haven't seen much of him yet, but we will see more in the next episode. I love him to bits, but he's just not the brightest pea in the pot. Notwithstanding his piano virtuosity.
The shortest:
Probably Hallur, a dwarf in my Svana story.
The tallest:
Probably one of my Elvish OCs, Elves are all with the tallness. Oh, or one of my characters for the Twins story. One of the two best friends of the afore-mentioned Twin-gal.
He/she nearly had a great destiny:
Easier to say who nearly didn't: Damien. He very nearly didn't. But who nearly had one? No one springs to mind.
One day, he/she will have lots of fangirls/boys:
Let's check out my original fanfiction... Fab might. In the Twins story, I'm thinking Selador is the most likely (a vampire-like character who is trying to redeem himself by following the will of the Goddess). In the Svana story, I don't know whether Hákon has any potential for getting fanboys and -girls, or if he's just too... off. Too not-human.
He/she's not even pretty:
Claire. Poor, poor Claire.
Oh please no, don't bring him/her up:
Any of the Mary-Sues I wrote in my younger days. And there are some.
I can't admit where I got the inspiration from:
I can't think of anything, really. Oh yes, actually, but I can admit it rather easily. The first, two-dimensional version of Damien was a rip-off of Lestat. Completely.
Also, Bad Wolf (aka the second but last episode of Dr Who for this season) was brilliant! And I still love Captain Jack. I'm getting so very sad in advance about Nine leaving, though. And for those of you who are puzzled about how I can like that show, here's an article that explains my feelings really well. And here's a little thing Russel wrote, in which he endears himself to me even more and, incidentally, thanks Buffy. I swear. Go read! I love him.
Russel? I love you. In a completely platonic way. And I never would have set your testicles on fire, as some die-hard fans have been threatening you with.

Date: 2005-06-14 11:52 am (UTC)As for the Doctor being jealous of him flirting... You're not the first one I read who thinks so, but that's really not how it felt to me. I felt he just wanted him back on the task at hand. More like scolding a kid. But that's just me.
Love your icon, btw.
And I both can't wait for and very much recoil from next week's episode. It's gonna be the end. I don't wanna see Nine go! I love David Tennant, but I don't wanna see Nine go.
