Well, I watched myself episodes 14 to 21 of Alias... Since it's spoiler material, here's a cut. And if you wanna read it, beware, it's rant material.

First things first, I love Sark! Apparently he *is* called Julian, which is... well, it's a good name, it suits him, but I liked that he didn't have a first name. It had a very "Miss Parker" feel to it, I suppose. I liked him better without a first name. I think I'll try and repress that. Why did they suddenly feel the need to give him a first name anyway? He was just fine without it.

Then, Sark/Lauren. I've gotta say, that was one of my fears. But then the way they did it, I kinda liked it. I liked the second half of that ep, where you got to see everything from the bad guys' pov, though they could have played more with that, wasted potential. Anyway. Was kinda disappointed by the "after the sex" scene, not so much because of the lines or anything, but because David looked somewhat awkward... where were the sparks? It was nowhere near as bad as the lack of sparkage between Lindsey and Eve on Angel, of course not - to start with, the actually passionate scene looked real and stuff. But then, the afterwards scene just rang false, for some reason. Maybe it's just me.

I still awfully miss Irina. I don't like Katia half as much. Really not. Irina come baaaaack! It would be so sweet to see her in the finale. Nadia, though, I really like. First, she's so very beautiful. Much more so than Syd, in my opinion. And then, she just... she shows spirit... and somehow, softness. I like her. I didn't like her last line though, about Sloane having protected her? Wake up, sis, he's the one who betrayed you to start with.

By the way, am very much not convinced Sark had called Lauren to warn her. I truly believe he did plan to kill her. But then she did prove her usefulness, so he changed his mind. Clever little bastard that he is. And on a very superficial note, I love seeing him dressed in casual clothes, and with *hair*. Thanks, David, mate. A lot. Oh, and Michael can't do an English accent. It was a great idea to have him play Sark, though. Was thinking back to S1 when Vaughn was everything but a field agent. Did he ever get a training for all this stuff, or did they just decide along the way that now he was field trained? Don't much like seeing him overpower Sark so easily. Yes, he's got the advantage of strength, but... I like seeing Sark as a male version of Syd, also a Project Christmas kid - seeing him as he is portrayed in Salvation, really. Where Vaughn does manage to overpower him, but it felt less easy. I really liked his ruthlessness in killing the Tibetan monk, though - and the fact that the Tibetan monk had no trouble overpowering him, that was good too.

Hell I miss Irina.

As for Vaughn, I don't see what's so hatable about him. Sure, he doesn't take the best decisions ever, but he's true to himself. He's still the very same Vaughn with all those moral obligations and stuff. And now he's sinking. Yay! He's turning into more than the usual boyscout. And I love Jack.

Oh yeah, great stuff with Sloane's execution. I was gonna be disappointed if they didn't go through with it, and I was disappointed that Jack would let his feelings control him like this, and then... and then Jack was his usual ever so cool self and saved me from all around disappointment. Way to go, mate. And also, Victor Garber really does a good job on him. Congrats, pal.

For what little we see of Weiss: love you, man.

I don't think I'm hating Marshall anymore. He kinda grows on you. In English, that is. His dubbed French self is absolutely hatable all around. But no matter the version, I could have slapped him when he wasn't telling them where Vaughn was. And that slap was so fake, Sark, babe... not in the act itself, I'm sure Sark really did slap Lauren to make it look more true, but he just wouldn't do that... because he's smarter than that and he would know not to alienate her. Unless he killed her right afterwards. Besides, it's just not his style. Point being, the slap confirmed for me that it was one big set-up. I only had suspicions before.

As for Sloane, I'm glad he's back to being that Rambaldi-obsessed psycho. Much better than a humanitarian. At least we know where we stand with him. I just want Irina to come back! I'm sorry, but Katia shows nowhere near the same ambiguous beauty. Lena Olin is so beautiful and so talented. She's perfect.

Oh, and I need to find out who the guy playing Cypher was. I'm positive I've seen him somewhere before.

And Carl Lumbly's performance when Dixon's kids were kidnapped was great.

Mwah. I want more Sark goodness. In fact, I think I want them to say that this last season and then some eps were all a joke, and I want them to shoot Salvation. That fic is just brilliant. It deserves to be shot.

But all in all, what could I say? Not as good as S2, but definitely improving... That much is certain.
