Lost 2x04 - the Hurley ep.
At last! An episode of Lost I actually enjoy. Probably because the flashbacks were interesting for once; I think I have a soft spot for that friend of Hurley's. And the story itself, it felt true. It was something about Hurley we didn't know, and it made sense, and it felt true, and real. It's something that actually happens.
I still think it was a bit of an overreaction to want to blow the stuff up, but... we still don't know why Hurley got committed. He might be prone to overreacting now and then.
And hey! Dom and Emilie and Maggie! Been a while. Glad to know you're still on that show.
I could have taken a bit more of Sayid banging against that wall, though. Man. I mean, whoa. Joey, of course, couldn't have been more impervious, but...
And, the others-not-others. I love that Analucia was all friendly at first, and she's the real badass, whereas Adebisi (what's his character's name? I need to know it to stop calling him Adebisi, 'cause clearly he's so not) seemed to be the badass at first and is, in fact, friendly. And am I lusting after her or what. And I love Adebisi. And, also, Rose is married to Holland Manners!! (It's the actor's name I need to learn this time 'round.) Bernard... I'm gonna like you, I believe. Hopefully you won't be another Artz. I want you to keep living, mate! And the fact that this is another bunker, with another symbol - I'm actually getting interested in the actual plot and mythology, here. Which I hadn't been for a while. I simply really liked all those scenes on the other side of the island.
Also, I kinda wish somebody would treat Sawyer's wound. Before it gets infected and they have to cut off his arm, you know. I like my Sawyer with both arms attached.
Oh, and the shower scene? Disa-bloody-pointing. I was actually hoping they'd do something, simply because... well, come on!
Hmm. Now I'm wondering whether Sayid and Shannon are still "taking it slow." *eyeroll* We'll probably know when her episode airs.
Alias 2x03 - 'Boring boring boring.'
You know Cruel Intentions, when Sebastian reads that interview of Annette and keeps going, "Boring boring boring... 'I love my parents!'... boring boring boring." Well, that was so me during that episode.
First off? Sydney is so bloody boring. Any residual Sarkney shipper in me has promptly died from how boring she's become, and I don't think motherhood is gonna make it any better. Argh. I think motherhood is gonna make it worse, and I'm not sure I'm gonna stick around to find out.
Yes, that was me wondering whether to keep watching. Because between her and Rachel? Me = super bored. Rachel is a mix between Syd and Marshall, and blah. Blaaaaah. We don't need another techie, we've got Marshall and we love Marshall!! Go away! *pauses* Ok, lesbian subtext, I like it, but it's not enough to make me like you! Even if it's lesbian subtext with Amy Acker!
I'm really hoping Drew's episode (I think it might just be this week's!) will restore my interest in watching Alias. Come on, Drew, I believe in you mate. Er. I mean - not mate. You amazingly talented writer man-god youand hopefully future father of my child. Pretty please?
And I do like our new guy on the team! If only because he's not gonna refrain from giving Sydney a piece of his mind whenever he ought to, and that's gonna be joyful to watch.
Now, if only we could get Weiss back, an interesting Sloane back, more stuff on Jack, Sydney to take that bloody maternity leave, Sark back, and Cole back too, well... I'd be really super-happy. Oh, and some more Elodie Bouchez (preferably with short hair). Some good ol' Irina would be welcome too. Thanks JJ!
Oh, how I wish.
Unrelated, but I've just chatted with Etienne on MSN - Etienne was the other French assistant at the school where I worked near Manchester last year. He's going back to visit everybody in January. Oh how I longed to be able to say "wait, I'll book the same dates! I'm coming too!" *heaves a deep, deep sigh* I miss this place and those people so much. It's all the harder to turn my back on it that I had a bloody job over there, and I liked it, and Etienne and I both wish we'd stayed on another year. But regrets are hardly constructive. I need to look to the future.

Date: 2005-10-17 11:10 pm (UTC)Hey! I know and understand why you'd lust after him there, so I'm not totally impervious to it. It's just - I don't have an interest in it. Shirtless Simon's better. :-p
And how I understand you on the whole "going back to Manchester" thing... *hug*
