New Layout!

Behold, ladies and you menfolk, my new layout! I'd wanted to change for a while now, much as I still adore Scud, and shadesofbrixton's change of layout, combined with the Top 100 I just finished, inspired me to put this together, all for the eye's pleasure. Seven of the men from my Top 10, and I was very sad not to be able to put any more than just them. ...I think I'm gonna be staring at those pictures a lot.

Aaaand I'm off to watch Macbeth Retold. Richard, James and Keeley!

Thank you! Those pictures all struck me while I was looking around for pics to use for the Top 100 - they just screamed "do something with us!" at me, and they're all black and white to start with. So really, let's bow to the photographers who did a wonderful job. I barely had to retouch a couple of them.

How are you doing? I've been as bad as ever with the flist. How's J?

J is a busy bee. He's still at work right now, actually, at 6 on a Sunday night. Blech. But he turned 33 yesterday and had a good birthday I think. I've been trying to straighten up the house from the holiday chaos--annoying but necessary.

And I assume it was the fun, or at least good kind of chaos? It ought to have been.

They're pretty good. I found myself three English kids to teach French too, and just talking with their mother over the phone made me feel so good. And then tonight I had a call from one of the teachers I worked with last year (and did a lot of socialising with, as well), as one of my fellow assistants was visiting, and talking to them both felt very good and very heartbreaking at the same time. In a I-miss-it-all kind of way. So I'm very much looking forward to making the acquaintance of my young English pupils, hopefully they'll be sweethearts. There's no reason they shouldn't be. :)

I wish you lived here--I haven't had anyone to talk French with for 10 years and I've lost so much it's not even funny. I'm thinking of signing up for Arabic lessons, if I can find a place to take them here. So is J, but he wishes his family had taught him when he was younger. He got spanish from his mother, but his dad never felt comfortable enough with Arabic to teach his kids. They got latin instead.

I wish my parents came from somewhere else than France, no matter where. And had taught me another language from the start. At least he got Spanish, yeah, which is already pretty good. Knowing Arabic would be lovely, tooL. Lovelier, actually, I wish I knew languages that were so much more different from my own.

*grins* Thanks. The first one I really put together not that neatly, and it didn't really speak to anybody but the five people on earth who've seen DEBs and fangirled Scud as much as I did. So, yeah. Time for a change was long come!
