I'm back! Yes, I've been away. *mock-glares at those who didn't notice* I've been ill, actually, taking after Joey I suppose, although not as bad as her. I thought I was recovered today, however, but going out grocery shopping left me feeling all woozy and I'm staying in tonight as well. Grompf. I'm teaching tomorrow at 10. Not fun. But I like that pupil, at least.

And I thought, what better way to come back than a movie quote meme? Gakked from too many people to remember who was first or what.

1. "Don't you just take the past, and put it in a room in the basement, and lock the door and never go in there? That's what I do."

The Talented Mr. Ripley, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

2. "I even have to remember to breathe!"

The Wisdom of Crocodiles, by [livejournal.com profile] heikki_cheren

3. "Your men love you. If I knew nothing else about you, that would be enough."

A Knight's Tale, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

4. "Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have... reproductive organs under those tiny, white pants. It's just so illogical, about being a Smurf, you know? I mean, what's the point of living... if you don't have a dick?"

Donnie Darko, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

5. "Half of writing history is hiding the truth."

Serenity, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne (and [livejournal.com profile] stampinground)

6. "Villainy wears many masks, none of which so dangerous as virtue."

Sleepy Hollow, by [livejournal.com profile] jade_plume

7. "You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you." "You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die."

The Princess Bride, by [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster

8. "I'm a fuckin' demon."

Dogma, by [livejournal.com profile] jade_plume

9. "I'm going to give you the choice I never had."

Interview with the Vampire, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

10. "I believe in love. Not just getting it, but giving it. I think that if you're able to love someone, even if they don't know it, even if they can't love you back, then it's worth it."

Gosford Park, by [livejournal.com profile] jade_plume

11. "Ah, but that's why it's so brilliant." "'Cause it's so pathetically dim-witted."

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by [livejournal.com profile] stampinground

12. "One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness." "Though it seems enough to condemn him."

The Pirates of the Caribbean, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne (and [livejournal.com profile] stampinground)

13. "Planning is pointless. Staying alive is as good as it gets."

28 Days Later, by [livejournal.com profile] pee_wai.

14. "I got the better end of the deal. I only lent you my body - you lent me your dream."

Gattaca, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

15. "My first rule of thumb, I don't say where I'm going or where I'm coming from. I try to leave a little reputation behind me, so if you really need to you'll know how to find me..."

Bugsy Malone, by [livejournal.com profile] jade_plume

16. "Remember today, little brother."

The Lord of the Rings, by [livejournal.com profile] stampinground

17. "All right, then. We're going in." "What?" "We gots to get her back."

DEBs, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

18. "Sucking all the marrow out of life doesn't mean choking on the bone."

Dead Poets' Society, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne (and [livejournal.com profile] stampinground)

19. "Whenever we're about to do something truly horrible, we always say that the French have been doing it for years."

Stage Beauty, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

20. "Got it all wrong, holy man. I absolutely believe in God... and I absolutely hate the fucker."

Pitch Black, by [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne

GIP. Because it's been a while since I professed my Drew love. (Probably didn't help that his Alias ep sucked that badly. Wasn't on top of his game, my man wasn't. But still I remain his faithful minion.)

Yay! I was afraid nobody'd find that one. He always breaks me when he says that. (And, oops. Going to fix the lj-cut. Thanks for the tip!)

Ten years ago or so, I had a character whose species for whom breathing and heartbeats were also something they had to remember to do. So, that line rang a bell the first time I heard it. ;-) And, yeah, even without that, it's a heartbreaking moment...

(I obviously modified the structure of my first sentence mid-way through it... It doesn't make much sense anymore, duh! *eg*)

Heh. And still, thanks to my amazing intelligence (don't laugh at me now, will you), I understood. *beams* And, yes, heartbreaking. It's just, god, the way he delivers that line. How much of himself he puts into it. Jude Law is a hell of an actor.

Ah, now I'm jonesing to watch that movie again, except I have a lesson to prepare for tomorrow, at 10, and... argh. Working is not so good as all that. In some ways.

I will have to re-watch IA one day. I wasn't fond yet of Jude Law back then, and I missed his performance. I assume I would like it now.

I saw it again a few weeks ago, at someone's place. I picked it because I thought I had missed the beginning (and, huh, I still can remember where it was. Toulouse, second one-month-long stay there). So I found out I had indeed missed... oh, at last thirty seconds. Maybe even a whole minute. I dunno how I could like without having seen that bit, it's awful. ^_^

Huh.... Is he/she living far away?
Does he/she need to improver his/her understanding of oral english? I heard watching to some not dubbed films could help.... *eg*

Thank you! I'm sure the feeling poorly will have cleared out very soon. I thought I was all but good this morning, so it can't be very far off.

How have you been? Did I miss anything?

Life hasn't been a lot of fun lately, but that's nothing new, so, no. You didn't miss anything :)

Oh, forgot to ask. What was wrong? I don't even remember Jo mentionning she was ill.

She posted about it, yes. Had a pretty bad case of gastroenteritis, which I think I kinda caught the almost-dead-but-not-quite bug of. I felt a bit nauseous on Wednesday and all through the night, and then yesterday it transformed into something more like flu symptoms, and today I'm feeling mostly okay, apart from a bout of nausea in the supermarket... guess going out didn't agree with me. So, hmm, yeah, nothing terribly wrong at all.

From: [identity profile] heikki-cheren.livejournal.com
Yeah, just saw that, but I was away for the weekend, and then I didn't have much of a connection for the two following days, so it seems I didn't catch up with any of the weekend posts.
I'm glad you seem to do better than she did.

I heard plenty of people talking about gastroenteritis these last weeks. I'm surprised I didn't catch it, what with my immune system being low and everything. Granted, I caught about everything else, but I didn't thought I would escape this one. ^_^
