First off, J. Michael Straczynski's statement about Andreas Katsulas. It makes my heart break a little.

I'll move on to Lost. So, The Long Con, as a Sawyer fan? Good episode. One Of Them, though? Really pretty damn sucky Sawyer-wise, although you have to adore Sawyer/Hurley interaction.

But Sayid-wise, very interesting, and for the shallow moment: oh how I'd missed lusting after Naveen. It's taken them time, but finally we see Sayid breaking apart a little because of Shannon's death. Given the fact that I'm not a huge AL-hater, I don't actually mind that he focuses his hatred and blame on the Others, and not on her. It makes an odd sort of warped sense, because this is all very irrational after all. And I appreciate, and am a bit puzzled by, the fact that Analucia would not tell anyone about having seen Rousseau. It was also quite revealing that Sayid would become a torturer under American custody. Shed a new light on all of it. And while the last flashback SCREAMED "blue screen," I still liked the look of it, the colours, the surreality. And Clancy speaking Arabic.

The failing to push the buttons thing? I was like "wait, no, he actually DIDN'T make it? Seriously? Something's gonna happen???" and then he could still enter the numbers and it went back to normal and I was like, *FACEPALM*. WHY DO I EVEN STILL HAVE HOPE FOR THIS SHOW, TELL ME! And, well, yeah, I know why. Characters. I'm all here for the characters. It's not so much hope as hanging on for the sake of a few good eps.

That said, the last scene with Charlie was omg so lame. Honestly. Gah. And the tensions have really been shifting lately. The end of S1 left us all believing that the big power struggle would be Locke vs. Jack, but it doesn't really look like that anymore, for all that those two keep being at loggerheads. Now we've got Sawyer with the guns, and Sayid being all "I haven't forgotten", and Jack and Locke more or less on the same side except they keep crossing each other, and they opposed Locke's faith to Eko's, and it seems like there will be nothing so simple as a clear-cut divide between the survivors. Which, on the one hand, could be construed as a good thing because it means more complexity, but on the other hand, this is Lost, this is a JJ show, and I'm afraid it really only means that they don't know where they're going.

Also, guest star! Clancy Brown, who once again proves to be a hell of an actor and I think I might've squeeed each time he opened his mouth because good god his voice. Now I feel like watching Carnivàle again.

The lack of Kate, apart from through her dad, was very much appreciated, too. I could relax for a whole episode. Missed Eko, though.

And good news for Lost! There is still hope. They've signed on Drew for two years. I love my master: "There's a simple formula to the kinds of scripts I write," he told Daily Variety. "Basically, people talk about their feelings, something explodes and/or a fight breaks out, more talking about feelings, someone bleeds to death and then everyone makes jokes about their pain."

He's also writing the 100th Alias episode, for those who care. Hopefully it'll make up for what-was-it-called, the absolutely BORING last episode he wrote on that show. Was it Mockingbird? Might have been. In any case, it was a let-down coming from him. Drew, you're capable of greatness. Help them put Lost back on track! And don't screw up Alias, kthx.

I was pretty excited about Wednesday's episode. I thought the further development of Sayid was brilliantly played out, and I really enjoyed the new parts to his background story. Have you noticed that many of the characters are connected through fathers? Sayid's leader was Kate's father, Jack's wife was hit in the carwreck by Shannon's father, and Sawyer met Jack's father in Austrailia. Hmmm!

I'm baffled with the Charlie stuff. Truly baffled. I like that we're getting the dark side of everybody, and I'm really excited about where an evil alliance between Sawyer and Charlie could go. I know that many people have been giving the show a lot of crap this season, but I really feel like the past few episodes have made up for a rather lackluster season. JJ said on the first season DVD's that they basically planned out the show for like six seasons, so with that in mind, I've got a little more faith than I would want to give him after what he did to Alias. I don't think JJ believed Alias was going to be a hit, hence the destruction of every character and the main storyline in the third season. But I've got faith in Lost... for some reason!

Ack, pardon my ranting. I'm at work, I'm really hungover and I'm really bored! ;D

On the whole, I really liked the episode. The Sawyer bits put me off though - is Sawyer stupid to the point of asking Jin for help? I don't think so. Why would Hurley not even refer to Sawyer's horde of guns, or did I miss it? And really, would Hurley actually horde food? Maybe I just love Hurley too much to believe he would, but, yeah. Anyway.

And I'm all for seeing everybody's dark side, I just wish it were more seamless. I just feel more and more like they can't write a show that flows, it keeps feeling forced and where is the cohesion, you know? Also, I'll believe that JJ planned it all in details when we got to the end and he's proved to do as good a job with Lost as JMS did with Babylon 5. High standard to live up to, but hey.

Don't worry about the ranting! I'm well used to distracting Brix while she's at work, and it's a pleasure to do the same for you. ;) How was the kegger? *slips you advil*

Yeah, that last scene was pretty cheesy. But, meh, I'll get over it. Haha.

I love Sawyer, too. Except I didn't like him squishing the frog. That wasn't too cool. :-\

Ack, the button thing! I was waiting for some explosion or something interesting to happen, not goofy hieroglyphic looking things.

I just wish it'd been brought about in a better way, you know? It was just so badly sewn-in, or something.

It's not the squishing the frog in itself, it's just the general lack of coherency that gets to me. Grrr. Treat my Sawyer right, guys! Drew, you tell 'em!

Ah, so it brought hieroglyphs to your mind too? I was just like, whatever. You wanna keep playing with us? Watch me not give a damn. *eyeroll*

Oh, I adore Sawyer and Hurley. And I think that episode was pretty good. I still have my reservations. We'll see.
