So I've been shite at keeping up with the flist for the past week and then some, and I don't think I'm going to catch up.

In other news, look how I'm not doing NaNo. NotnotNOT. I've resisted the Captain Jack muses, and trust me it wasn't easy. But I'm doing the responsible thing, which kills me a little inside because I feel like I haven't truly written any fic in ages. I miss it.

I know I mentioned it before, but for the, like, four Authority fans on my flist, is any of you into, or willing to give a go to, online RPing? More specifically, the Hero Network, where all comic books collide. It's loads of fun, full of amazing writers, and we've got our little family, Apollo, Midnighter and Jenny Q, and we would love other Authority people to play with. Perhaps not a Doctor (even though the kid intrigues me a lot) as his powers would be way off the chart for the comm, but an Angie or a Shen or a Jack. We even might have an opening for a Jenny Sparks through a plot that's going to come through soon, if anybody wants to take her up - she'd only be ghost-like, though. Which is bound to frustrate her something fierce and oh how we would love a Jenny Sparks.

And as far as timelines go, we went AU after Revolution.

Right. Now that that shameless bit of plugging and come-play-with-us! is done... Tonight's Jamie Cullum, and I'm driving home with the parents for the weekend. And I should go pack before I head to my Shakespeare class. Meh. But! Jamie Cullum!

Also I am forever indebted to [livejournal.com profile] south_uist because I have just received the whole of Oz'. Oh, god. Except ramblings ahead. It has been too long.

How's everybody doing?

I AM DONE WITH NANO!!!

Apart from the fact that some of those characters own a bit of my soul, and always will, and will never leave me as long as I have some fandom love in me.

But, I have just posted the epilogue on [livejournal.com profile] nano_fan, and I am DONE WITH NANO.

So it could have been edited better. Yes, alright. But then I'd have never posted it, and I needed to get it out of the way. It might have meant writing over 50,000 words in a month, but it's also borne down on me ever since and I've been unable to write much of anything else since. Now, at last, I've finished telling my tale of the Operative. Now I can let those characters rest.

[livejournal.com profile] the_grynne, thanks again for your incredibly valuable help on the Chinese. [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh and Frédéric, thank you for the input and the suggestions and the urging me on.

I AM DONE.

Now it's time to get back to writing, damnit.

EDIT: in the personal announcement section, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] heikki_cheren (or not, if you'd rather people still didn't wish it to you - take your pick!), and welcome to this world to Frédéric's baby niece, Kim. (I like the name, despite the horribleness that's Kim Bauer. Nice one!)

For those who care, I've only just posted the end of the first chapter of my NaNo on [livejournal.com profile] nano_fan. I sort of stopped posting for a while for no good reason whatsoever, but I'm now back, and hoping to get through the whole novel in the next couple of weeks. Because I just want to be done with it, truth be told. I want to put it behind me.

In other news, have tweaked my layout to use the "Smooth Sailing" style instead. Now, can anybody direct me towards tutorials on how to add images in the sidebar? Or even explain it to layout-y-things-impaired me? 'Cause everybody's doing it, and I want in!

...but still couldn't be bothered to friend my NaNo journal? I'm done! Phew. It was tough on the end, but I did it.

That said - I'm not actually done. I've covered the expected 50,000 words, but the story is not over and I mean to finish this novel. And then edit it and post it, probably on [livejournal.com profile] nano_fan so as not to flood this LJ with it. I don't think I've ever mentioned what it would be about on this LJ, so for you Browncoats, one word: Operative. The one and only (except he really isn't). The story will demand much editing before it's readable, but I'm really hoping to get it done quickly, hopefully by mid-December. I want to feel like I truly achieved something, here.

On this note, good night all!

First, because technically I'm not late yet, as it is far from midnight where you are, happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] khylarenelf!

Then, meme gakked from the ever so talented [livejournal.com profile] cinnamongrr1:

Meme: Pick 5 fandoms and answer for each of them.
1. The first character you first fell in love with:
2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:
3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:
4. The character you love that everyone else hates:
5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:

Lost, Alias, Firefly, Buffy, Doctor Who )

Funny how it seems to be a pattern that I'll keep expecting not to love the whacky, fun, goofy sidekicks kinda characters that much, and I always end up adoring them through and through. (Thinking Weiss, Xander and Wash here.) I should start expecting it by now.

That said, given nobody's tried and kept me away from it, I'm now gonna go sign up for NaNoWriMo. And set up a writing journal where I can rant about it to my heart's content, so as not to post all those rambles and agonies of mine here. I'll edit this post with the name of said LJ in case you're interested and wanna friend it. (Edit: the LJ's [livejournal.com profile] nano_fan.)

Hope you all had a great Halloween/are having a great Halloween!
