Tell me, are all football matches that GAY?

I have a sneaking suspicion that they are.

We're watching Soccer Aid. And honestly, who needs Law or Bloom when there is Wilkes? My Jonny Wilkes fangirling is back full force. Robbie who?

And Damian Lewis is a cutie, and oh Dean Kelly I adore you (and your brother, but he isn't playing, shame).

Also Robbie looks very cute with kids. I don't know how much of it was an act, but he does. That adorable little girl. Heee!

The parts in between the moments of obvious gay love are boring, though. If those guys can't get me into football, I think nothing can.

My top five moments so far:
- Jonny snogging Les Ferdinand on the ground after that first goal (okay, so the snogging might only have been in my mind, but he was sprawled on top of him okay?)
- Dean literally jumping on Jonny after that second goal, and how insanely happy Jonny looked
- the reruns of Jonny's goal, because oh, dear satan in hell, those thighs
- Ewan McGregor smiling so. very. cutely during half time, I could've just eaten him up
- Paul Bettany's Unicef Ambassador clip. Which has nothing to do with football and everything to do with Paul and I squeed. I knew it was coming and I squeed all the same.

I didn't see that particular match, but I can confirm that yes, most football matches are indeed quite gay.

Heh. Why am I not surprised.

And come on! You, Robbie fan, and you didn't watch? Tsk.

They didn't show it here!

...really? Wait, are you not in England anymore? Did I miss that? I can't believe they wouldn't show it on terrestrial.

Heh, I'm back in the States. I got back at the end of April. They did show it in England, but they definitely didn't show it here.

I'm so lame. Excuse me while I facepalm.

How did the going-back go, then? Reacclimating okay? And what's the plan now?

(Also? Torrents rock. They certainly didn't show it in France either.)

Hee.

It all went well! Unlike the thousands of warnings they gave us about reverse culture shock and getting used to being home, I had no problems. :D Now I work all summer and go back my home university in September. Back on track.

(I have never gotten the hang of torrents. :/)

I never really experienced any sort of bad culture shock, should it be in Canada or England, or coming back here. Especially not coming back, no matter how much I didn't want to leave those countries and the people I'd met there, because there's so much waiting for us "at home." People and places, familiar and much missed.

So what sort of a summer job did you land? (...you're the one that's majoring in geography, right? *squints*)

Ping me whenever you see me on AIM next, if you want me to walk you through it. It'll be my pleasure. Torrents are a blessing. You can't be French and into series without downloading liek whoa, so. Yeah. I'm guilty. Completely.

I think since I basically hated the whole experience in England, and there was very little I was going to miss, going home was never going to be all that bad. And it wasn't - I'm very happy to be back.

I do mindless office work. I'll take that over retail or fast food any day. (History. ;))

I might just take you up on that.

Until the end? Ack. I was hoping it had got better for you. I've only ever had such wonderful experiences going abroad. I was at the supermarket earlier and there were a couple of Americans talking and it just struck me how much I missed living in an English-speaking country, damnit. But I'm stuck here for at least a couple more years. Anyway! Rambling much.

Damnit, I was close! Almost there. *hangs head* Okay, I suck, and my memory's all over the place. And retail I wouldn't mind - fast food, though, blah.

I'm about to head off for a while, but if I make it back I'll try and get online. Don't hesitate!

Summer's coming. You should start hanging around touristic areas in Paris...

Hey! Who threw that slipper at me???

No, but it's better than going to Dublin and not hear anything else than French and Spanish. The first time I went, I had a hard time finding English speakers in the streets. ;-)

And somehow totally unrelated, and yet not 100% off-topic (just 99%)... I went to the Monoprix today, and they hadn't any hot cross buns anymore.
I found some the other day, brought them at Yann's, somehow didn't get a chance to have breakfast the next morning and therefore left them at his place, and now.... now they are gone. They don't seem to sell them anymore. They were the very first hot cross buns I ever found in France. *sobs*

I feel your pain. Maybe you can try and bake some (http://www.fabulousfoods.com/recipes/breads/yeast/hotcrossbun.html)?

I'm American and barely ever watch football matches, but the ones I've seen? (cause they're on at like 2 in the morning unless you pay extra)

Very very mega ultra superhero gay.
