A few thoughs on tv shows.

Yes, I haven't updated in forever. This is me, trying to make up for it.
Last week's GA: Jeffrey, kindly to stop making me cry my eyes out any time. Seriously. Addison, marry me. (We can have threesomes with McSteamy. Maybe. When we feel like it.)
Last week's SPN: oh, god. Jared, you are brilliant at playing it bitchy and pissed. Only Dean gets to call him Sammy. And that punch. And the acting. And Amber. But mostly, the brother tensions. Christ. Fuck. I love them so hard.
The latest Desperate Housewives: yeah, so my love for Dougray Scott is back full force. I've been trying not to give in, but. Also, my love for Bree and Marcia Cross (is that her name?) keeps growing. And I love what they're doing with Andrew. So bad.
The latest Robin Hood: I'm surprised to say I enjoyed it much more this time. Likely because I knew what to expect. I still strongly dislike Robin's cockiness (cabotinage, much?), but Marian made me want to slap her less. I settled for mild dislike and much eyerolling instead. Richard is never as good as when he doesn't have any stupid lines to say, thus making his silent scenes on the show the best. thing. ever, especially by comparison to heavy-handed political comparisons. (My, I don't know what you're talking about.)I think something's very wrong with me that I saw similarities between the way the Sheriff acted and the way Rufus did in AKT.
Last night's Heroes: I still adore Nathan. So much more interesting than his brother. HIRO! Nothing more to say on that. Nikki: less blah. Cheerleader gal whose name I'll remember some day: not the smartest kid ever, but I still like her a lot. Mohinder: needs to be shirtless. Isaac: is threatening to be made into an actual character with those lines they're giving him. Matt: needs to be on more. Seriously. And bring Clea in.
STING. Omigodsting. So much hotness, and his voice. And also I just fucking love that show. It's Sorkin, and I love Sorkin. I'm even starting to like Jordan. Maybe. A little. But mostly I'm in love with Christine Lahti's character and Harriet is wonderful and oh Matt oh Danny oh Cal oh Sim oh all of you guys. *LOVES* I seriously don't want it cancelled please please pretty please.

Date: 2006-10-17 09:03 pm (UTC)I occupied myself through those scenes silently imbuing Guy with depth!Depth!! But compared to the Sheriff, he at least has interesting motivations. I wonder if his family had lost their estate somehow over the generations, or if they just never had their own land.
And what's the deal with Robin and Guy? Did he lose a fight to Robin before he went to war, when he was a bloodthirty brat (Robin, not Guy)?

Date: 2006-10-17 09:11 pm (UTC)As for what the deal is with Robin and Guy, I'm thinking mostly it's our imagination, too. I don't want to start expecting a background story on Guy - although if it involves Robin, maybe we will get it. (I wish that show were called Guy of Guisborn. Oh, I wish.)
I just read the Jamie interview you linked to and oh how I love this man. Thanks for that. :)

Date: 2006-10-17 09:50 pm (UTC)Nathan is my favourite character now as well, although I'm equally fascinated by Peter, as their stories are closely connected. And Nathan's got that classic superhero square jaw going... I think he's definitely going to surprise us.

Date: 2006-10-17 11:48 pm (UTC)It would probably not be just a you thing if I heard it. I don't think I even squeed at you about his pirate songs, I kept it for B, but holy shit. And the accent! And just, ha. There is nothing that man could do that I wouldn't like, I'm beginning to suspect. It's kinda vexing.

Date: 2006-10-18 12:54 pm (UTC)Also, thank you sweetie, but I'm sure that I can get my hands on it some other way that won't trouble you half as much. I'll also look around for lute-y Fields of Gold, I'll let you know if I can find it!

Date: 2006-10-17 09:25 pm (UTC)Missed Robin Hood, and am mostly blah about the fact that I missed Robin Hood. I saw the first episode and the best thing about it was the Torchwood advert after it.
I should be watching Heroes, shouldn't I?

Date: 2006-10-17 11:54 pm (UTC)Having seen the TW ad independently of the pilot, the best thing about it was undoubtedly my lovely wonderful what-the-hell-are-you-doing-in-this-show Richard Armitage. I strongly disliked that first episode, but the second one was entirely more watchable.
Yes, you definitely should be. If only for Adrian Pasdar, who's just giving us the most complex character of the lot so far. And he's barely been developped yet! Plus, Greg Grunberg - as an Alias fan, how can you not want to follow Greg's career? Tch.

Date: 2006-10-17 09:36 pm (UTC)'Heroes' is so my new tv baby. And I'm with you on the de-shirting Mohinder issue.
I'm so glad that I found someone else who appreciates Harriet. Seriously, why people hate her? She's great all around.

Date: 2006-10-17 11:57 pm (UTC)He seriously needs it off, right? I'm sure they could work that into the plot somehow. Makes Likely!Evil!Chick seduce him for her Likely!Nefarious!Plans or something.
They do? No! Harriet is wonderful! And worth a hundred Jordans. Tch.

Date: 2006-10-18 12:07 am (UTC)I know. At least people who don't like Harriet usually don't like Jordan even less. Small mercies.

Date: 2006-10-18 12:56 pm (UTC)Yes, quite. But how can they not love Harriet? She's a true Sorkinese female character. I love her.

Date: 2006-10-17 11:59 pm (UTC)But, yes. Richard is lickalicious.
And okay, I'm totally getting excited about TW now I really, really shouldn't.

Date: 2006-10-19 08:41 pm (UTC)I am reserved about the 'Wood because of my earlier reservations about DWS2(noo), but Jack! Jack! And coats! And Cadiff! Where I've been, although not since they did it up with all that millennium stuff.

Date: 2006-10-19 09:01 pm (UTC)I am extremely wary of getting excited about TW, but I can't really help it at this stage. I do expect a lot from it. I'm so afraid I'm going to hate it. But Jack! His own show! And that coat! And RTD! Come on, I can't hate it, right? *is afraid* *is very afraid*

Date: 2006-10-18 09:07 am (UTC)Robin Hood.... well, I'm still waiting to be convinced. I completely agree on Robin's cockiness - blowing Marian kisses indeed. Much as I love having a date with Richard every Saturday night, he is managing to look bored in nearly all his scenes. Lets hope they give him something more to do soon!
no subject
Date: 2006-10-18 12:57 pm (UTC)But he looks bored in a magnificent way! He seems to be saying "why the fuckin' hell couldn't I find some better patron to be a henchman for, honestly." Which, you know, I'm right there with him.
