Back from the wedding!

The ceremony itself was decidedly less enjoyable than my friend Clement's was. Since Clement was only doing it at church for his wife, the whole ceremony had a constant "whether you believe or not" feel to it. Not the case here. Oh well. It was still lovely to see my uncle and Liliane so happy. They found each other rather late in life, it gives one hope that everything and anything is possible.

Being relegated to the "teenagers/young adults" table at dinner wasn't too bad. Talked more with Mathieu, kid who's in my brother's band, than I had before. He's quite nice! My cousins were fun, too. But I have to admit, I did spend quite a bit of that evening at another table... Oh well. We sang rewrites of Celine and Armstrong for the newly-weds, all very funny (and hopefully no one heard how incredibly offkey I sing!), and then another one for my grandparents.

Party time was great as well. Since Liliane is from Madagascar, there was quite a bit of dancing to Malgache tunes. People left rather early, though, and after a while there was just a handful of us left dancing... Didn't bother me, though. Maude, this girl who used to babysit us ten years ago, was there, and we got on fantastically well. Reminisced lots of memories, danced like crazy, talked quite a bit. Ended up inviting her to [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh's and my birthday party. She's a true ray of sunshine, in all possible ways. We were all so happy to see her again - mum had intentionally not told us she'd be there. Hopefully she'll be able to make it to the party, it depends on whether or not she's working that weekend. She and I danced the last song on our own... dancefloor all to ourselves... and guess what it was, people? Hold That Sucker Down!

On the bad side, my claddagh ring broke. I hope it's fixable, it's just broken at the back, it should be feasable. You just have to fuse it back together or something, right? Here's to hoping. Having to take it off in the middle of the evening gave way to a bit of an angsty moment, since it was the only thing about me that spoke of Joey. I hate not being able to be out to those people. I'm so happy my mother didn't follow the homophobic trend of the rest of her family. (Should the word "biphobic" be invented?)

All in all, it was all rather exhausting. (Understatement of the year, here.) But definitely worth it.

Didn't have any stamina left yesterday. Finished watching the first DVD of Cowboy Bebop - I'm getting into the interaction of the Bebop crew more and more with each episode. Also sent my brother the link to The tear of a warrior, he said he'd have a look at it! I'm very anxious. My bro's a big CB fan, and also *very* demanding and harsh and stuff.

Also watched Stella Does Tricks, a small independent British film with Kelly Macdonald. About prostitution. It was quite good. That girl is a hell of an actress (and I love her accent). It was quite harsh, as British cinema can be, but surprisingly not dark. The conclusion of the film was very interesting. I had the surprise to see Andy Serkis in a small part. Nothing earth-shattering, though. Hans Matheson played Eddie, a young junkie who fell in love with Stella. It was his second role ever, and he was *great* in it. The way he moved itself, and just... argh. He was *very* good. He was completely worthy to play with Kelly Macdonald, which is saying something.

Watching that film gave me writing urges, which sucked because I was in no condition to write last night. I ignored said urges and wisely went to sleep. Feel much better now. Feel like writing. Have some stuff to do this afternoon, but hopefully I'll be done soon and able to come back here and write.

Where *did* you get all those movies?

And *hug*. I miss you. Let me know if you can't get the claddagh fixed. I don't think there's an Irish store in Erquy? or Reims, for that matter.

Hope you could write. *just a kiss*

PS : Biphobic should totally be invented if it doesn't exist already. Especially since straights and gays alike can be biphobic... (gays aren't always cool people... i know! what a shock. i had to sit down, too. :-p) So yes! Let's invent it! People invent words every day in the US. :)

PPS: How did you manage to get them to play Hold That Sucker Down? Don't tell me they played it without you asking them for it??

I like your idiotic comments. Must be the same part of me that likes Alan Tudyk. *grin*

Anyway, remember I had ordered some dvds a while ago? Well, there you go. I still have Twelve Monkeys and Wuthering Heights (with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche) to watch, not to mention the commentaries to A Knight's Tale and One Hour Photo.

We'll go together in Rennes if need be, for another claddagh. Hopefully need won't be.

Well, my da and I really were the "DJs" of the evening. We used Inara and all the songs we'd downloaded, and at the end, since nobody was dancing anyway but me and Maude, I figured I might as well get myself a treat... and dad was good enough to let me!

And don't worry, biphobic existed for me before you gave me your permission. ;) Buffy fan, remember? (Btw, Andrew is breaking my heart... and Ben's sooooo cute!!!)
