Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I'm happy to say the writer's block is gone on FoF! Wrote a few more scenes today. Have also started planning my Firefly/HL crossover, but I've come across a bit of a dead end. I need a brainstorming about the blue gloves and what they're for, but the person to do that with is off touring New Zealand (lucky bastard...), so it'll have to wait. Unless someone else has given a thought to the blue gloves and come up with possible scientific explanations and would like to discuss them? That would be swell. Yes, people, that's a call for help.
Watched most of the QaF commentaries by now - can you believe they commented the *whole* show? Unbelievable. And quite interesting, too. Bonuses are good. So sweet to find out how soft-spoken and shy Aidan is in real life. Whereas Craig is nowhere near as shy as Vince.
As for Firefly, watched The Message and Heart of Gold today. I think they did a magnificent job on Tracey. That episode was so good. "When you can't run anymore, you crawl. And when you can't do that, you find someone to carry you." Inara breaks my heart in Heart of Gold, each time. (Well, okay, the two times I've watched it.) And they use the word sly for gay, don't they? I was like, hmm. Good to know. (Yes, guess whose favourite former Navy man will appear in that Ffl/HL xover.) Anyway. Great show. Can't wait to see the movie - Joss, man, don't screw this up. ... Pretty please?
And don't forget, people - Jayne is a girl's name.

Blue glove men
Date: 2004-05-08 06:07 pm (UTC)And the blue gloves are just protections against that swords protection device we already spoke about. :-P

Date: 2004-05-08 06:22 pm (UTC)They are aliens. And the organization they work for is running low on money this year, so they are given enough makeup for the face only and are bound to pretend they wear gloves.
Must be quite frustrating to have to spread all that ugly pinkish color on your face before being allowed to go out having some fun killing people.

Re: Blue glove men
Date: 2004-05-08 06:53 pm (UTC)I've got a theory
Date: 2004-05-10 11:25 am (UTC)Er, sorry. Anyway, I came up with a good idea. IMO.
Maybe they are genetically modified. That's why their killing device don't even hurt them, they are programmed to not be affected by it. But the genetic engineering had other side effects, and one of them is that they are very sensitive to [insert here whatever may be useful for your plot. Otherwise, you can pick germs, or some materials, or whatever you want] and therefore need to constantly wear gloves to avoid any contact with that.
Why are they blue? I have no frelling idea.
Or maybe it could be one of those:
* they think that kind of blue is "branché".
* it has some kind of recognition purposes.... hey, maybe there's even some Red Gloves somewhere that we haven't met yet.
* that blue color is due to the special material they're made from, which can [insert here interesting things that material could do which might be useful to your plot]
* the blue color is due to a special pigment used in the gloves processing. And due to their owners being genetically modified, they -and only they- can see it in the dark which is quite handy sometimes.
* they're always interrupted and sent away to kill people while they are doing the dishes. And we can't blame them for not liking pinky gloves, can we?
* ....
Anyway, the blue gloves are linked with them being genetically modified...
Re: I've got a theory
Date: 2004-05-10 01:59 pm (UTC)Damn. I don't think it would suit the plot. It's a good idea, though. I'll give it more thought. Thanks!
Re: I've got a theory
Date: 2004-05-12 10:46 am (UTC)And.... Do you really need to explain the aim of the blue gloves?
Considering that there'll finally be a Firelfy movie (yeah!!!!), what if they explain them in it and that it's totally different from your explanation?
Re: I've got a theory
Date: 2004-05-12 02:04 pm (UTC)As for the genetic engineering, yes, it would. But I was sorta hoping the guys could find a way to be immune too. Which would then be pretty impossible. It's not so much the blue gloves that I want a theory on that fits me, as the Blue Gloves as in the men in the blue gloves.
Re: I've got a theory
Date: 2004-05-12 03:07 pm (UTC)As for getting immune to the killing device.... Well, there's probably some more mechanical ways (which ones depend on how it works, I can't remember about it), but those would protect everyone around, not just the Serenity crew.
Besides, if they are genetically modified to be immune to it.... I guess their creators -and bosses- would want to have a way to protect themselves from it too, so the anti-killing-device-device (::g::) maybe already exist somewhere. ;-)
