Something about the plot of Alias 5x08 bugs me. So that Benjamin guy gets his hands on that MPB, or whatever the super-weapon was called. Which, you know, is a hell of a weapon. And then he's gonna waste it on Sark when he could just as eaisly have put a bullet in between his eyes? What's with that?

1. fan_elune: well, Fan' would be me. Because Fanny just doesn't go over as well with English speakers. And Elune is a moon goddess in Warcraft, and that's all [livejournal.com profile] pee_wai's fault. I'm the Elune to his Shando.
2. Fan''s Ranting Place: well, it's all in the name. I originally came to LJ so I would stop flooding Joey's mailbox with my rants, and share them with whoever wanted to read them instead.
3. And Writing Journal: again, all in the name. Because the other thing I use LJ for is to post my writings. It's actually pretty much replaced my poor, neglected site.
4. "Writing Addict." Because I am. Addicted. To writing. And it doesn't hurt that the cap actually is Chaucer from A Knight's Tale.

Drinking mulled wine on a Christmas market, preferably when it's snowed. Dancing and/or bouncing along to some music, alone in the living room. Blowing steam onto a window and drawing something (incredibly silly) on it. Biting into a perfectly ripe apple and licking at what little juice surfaces. Waking up just long enough to check the time, then going back to sleep all warm and comfy.

Not tagging anybody. Do it if you wanna!

Also, Joey has a new computer. PC, but very cool, called Harken (after the Alliance commander from Bushwacked, because we're sticking with the Firefly theme), and she's remodelling all her softwares into looking as much like Mac softwares as you can for PC stuff. Heh. Amused is me.

Well, anybody remotely honest would admit that Mac are prettier :)

You're pretty pretty yourself, Miss Breizh.

...couldn't help myself.

It is incredibly illogical, isn't it? The only explanation I could come up with was that Masari was out there to test the device anyway. *shrug*

But I couldn't let it bother me because there was my Sark! Being his devilish, over-confident self...and getting into trouble. We always knew what his weaknesses were. He almost makes me like Rachel, horror or horrors. :)

And even that explanation doesn't really hold. But yes, as you say, Sark. We can forgive the plot hole because it was such a nice scene. "Then he knows you pretty well." "Hmm." And "You're the one who wanted to cuddle afterwards," which, he wasn't the only one, but also, heh.

And I know, yes! For the first time I kinda liked Rachel! Well, you know, I didn't like Lauren until they hooked up. So clearly he has a way of making whoever he's sleeping with be more interesting. ...no, wait, that didn't work with Allison. Never mind. ;)

I still miss the original Mr. Sark, though. The one with no first name. He'll always be the one I like best.

David Anders' expressions made that episode. I kept rewinding to replay that quietly mortified "yesiknowsoshutup" look.

The only season of Alias I watched regularly was s3, and I have kind of loved Sark in all his stages. But the Sark we know now, who has a knack of making seriously bad choices where women are involved, who falls harder than he ought, who has a habit of underestimating his opponents...he's more interesting to write than the flawless assassin.

Heee. Ah, David. He makes me want to pinch his cheeks, it's awful.

And see, I disagree about who is more interesting to write. I... have never actually given much of a try to "Julian", by opposition to "Mr. Sark." But to me Julian is much less layered, and is a much more conventional character. Because Mr. Sark isn't flawless, at all. In fact, he has all the characteristics as Julian, only dormant - and what's interesting is to dig into that. Into his little flaws, and how he came to be who he is. Well, it is for me anyway. *looks sadly at that Sarkney fic that's already bloody huge, but that's been stuck for a good long while now* Or used to be, clearly, because S5 has been killing my muses. Especially Sydney.

Funny, how we can both agree about that. :) That's the thing, I don't really see a break between s1-2 and s3-5 Sark, not really. I think it's probably to do with the point at which I started reading/writing Alias, which wasn't until the very end of S3. Before that I'd only watch a few episodes of the show. I actually read the best Sark fiction out there before I decided I was interested in Alias and started watching again, so my perception of him never really took much cue from the show. But then, my very first Alias piece was a direct response to how horribly he was portrayed in the s3 finale, so I guess you can say I didn't like what they did with his character. However, it's the not liking that made me want to write him. *tongueinknots*

No, but see, I do. I really truly do, and that's my problem with it. We were presented with Mr. Sark, and suddenly we switched to Julian Sark, just because they'd decided to make him more human, I suppose, and... I felt cheated. I felt that it was cheap.

And I hardly even remember the S3 finale, I disliked it so much. I only vaguely remember Katya, and also the horrible death scene they gave Lauren. So anti-climatic, and she deserved better. Anyway - what happened with Sark again? Oh, wait, was it when Vaughn tortured him? Because that scene between the two of them I actually love. I love so much. Partly because of the lighting. It's so... yeah. But afterwards, in prison with Sydney pretending to be Lauren? Let's not.
