In a less squeeful post, we went and saw HP again last night. I have still not recovered from the Snape love, and the cuffs love (will icon very soon). Possibly it's actually gone worse. But while on a first screening I managed to cling to the liking I have of Hermione, on the second viewing it is absolutely impossible. In this movie, she is unbearable. Absolutely unbearable.

Have watched Blood - the Last Vampire, a fairly good anime that I bought due to its cheapness on CDiscount. Is it the pilot for a series? Because it ought to be. Am very intrigued by the interaction between David and Saya - the bonds that are born out of forced cooperation, I suppose.

Am also going through Profit again and loving it. Oh how I'm loving it. The ninetiesness is rather amusing, now, but it does not detract from the script. Such good scripts. I can only deplore the lack of audio commentaries.

We went to an American grocery store yesterday (thanks for the address [livejournal.com profile] heikki_cheren!) and bought Dr. Pepper (hurray!), cream cheese, crackers, mango chutney and bagels. Hmmmcreamcheese. Can't wait to taste mango chutney, too, which I don't think I have before. I'll trust Joey, and the "mango" bit, that it's something to look forward too. And then we stopped by this English library and I kinda couldn't help myself and bought the Chronicles of Narnia and the Saga of the Icelanders. Two huge books. Very pricy. But I truly couldn't help myself.

Which incidentally means that my Icelandic story is officially on hiatus until I'm done reading the Icelandic saga and I can rework it all accordingly. Since I've just started on the Saga of the Grail (well, I'm a good 100 pages into it and Merlin has just been born... worst is? I'm really enjoying it), I think the hiatus isn't about to end. I'm such a sucker for myths.

Visiting this beautifullest (yuh-uh) of countries made me realise that this is the kind of country I want to live in. I want to live some place that's beautiful. I want to live some place that can take my breath away. I want to live some place that makes me want to go outside and spend time just lying about, listening to the sound of waterfalls or on top of a dormant volcano, or walking around for the sheer sake of the beauty of it all.

I wouldn't mind living here, I truly wouldn't. Learning Icelandic would be a bit of a challenge, too.

Am still open to suggestions of men with scars to add to this icon. (And you really don't see Inigo's in the screen caps I found, such a shame. I wanna see The Princess Bride again! /whine) And yes, I did that icon instead of reading up on all the e-mail I haven't had the time to read. I'm bad.

Oh, and I almost forgot:

Flamboyant Jack
You're flamboyant Jack. Wild gestures, swaying
walk, c'mon

Which of Jack's (from Pirates of the Caribbean) multiple personalities are you?

I'm not sure I can do the swaying walk... but I'll try.

Very quick post. We're back! It was great. There was much swimming in *hot* pools, and I do mean hot (over 30°C), with amazing Islandic mounts in the background... true delight. There was also amazing sight-seeing - the landscapes are as beautiful as New Zealand! I don't even envy Frederic anymore, and that's saying something. We climbed through some caves and up some semi-cliffs and over a river on a plank of wood (no rope-walking yet, but working on it - [livejournal.com profile] pee_wai must have some Elvish heritage though. With all due respect to Orly, Peewai did the whole climbing thing with much more ease) and finally saw the tallest waterfall of Island... wow. It was worth it. We also climbed up a dead volcano, very nice view there too.

I'm in awe of this country.

I also read The Princess Bride - such a riot. I adore that book. I wanna see the film again! Hopefully I'll find a cheap dvd somewhere next year. Along with the whole "The far side of the world" series, should I like the first book. Which I don't doubt I will.

... I'm still alive! And in Iceland alright. It's hot and sunny, who'd have thought? [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh and I are just back from our one-year anniversary celebration, with a v. nice Italian restaurant and then a drink in a gay bar (it was karaoke night!). Other than that, we've gone riding today. I trotted (and even galloped for a few metres... and maybe tolted too... maybe), but most of it was just pacing... it was awesome. Oh, how I wish I had not given up riding all those years ago. My horse was called Tombola and she was great. *stupid horse-loving smile* Landscape was awesome too, imagine a mix between Auvergne (big, green former volcanoes) and lava rocks. Quite the kind of place where you could imagine the Hidden Folk to be. Sparked all kinds of muses. The town itself is nice, beside having a great gay bar.

Tomorrow we'll be going away, so I won't be on the net for a couple fo days. Not like I have the time to do much when I do have access, granted - don't even have the time to either answer mails or read my friends' LJs. Argh! Holiday time is hard. So very hard.
